Jose Luis Vega de Seoane graduated in 2012 as a software engineer from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has also completed a global management program at IESE Business School.In 2013, he co-founded video games developer Upplication as CEO. The mobile app maker was sold in 2017 to Mobusi, a leading digital marketing company. He left Upplication in 2018 and became a digital strategy advisor at the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX).In 2018, he co-founded Capaball as COO. He is also a mentor at Conector Startup accelerator and a board member of IBECOSOL. In 2020, the serial entrepreneur has founded two new startups: Heris, a platform to cure patients affected by aphasia and a digital marketing agency Trevol.

Jonathan Sudharta is the son of Sudharta, the founder of pharmaceutical conglomerate Mensa Group. He graduated from Curtin University, Australia with a bachelor's in Economics, specializing in electronic commerce. Jonathan has since helped to expand his family business, building a social media network for doctors and developing ApotikAntar, a service for delivering medicine from licensed pharmacies to customers. In 2016, he combined the medicine delivery service and online interaction with doctors to create Halodoc, a healthcare platform startup backed by the Mensa Group.

An electronic and communications engineer who's worked in Spain and Switzerland, Javier Escalante is a graduate of the University Polytechnic of Catalonia (UPC). He has a master's in Industrial Engineering (UPC) and a master's in B2B Sales from ESADE. After working eight years as a maintenance manager and automation engineer at corporates including Fuchs Oil, Oerlikon, Holcim and Tel Solar, Escalante returned to Spain in 2015 to start his own company BeWireless, specializing in Wi-Fi systems. From 2017, the company pivoted to focus on IoT products and services as B'Smart.

Portuguese national Sofia Nunes holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology in Lisbon and a master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently head of Talent & Culture at Mambu, a startup she co-founded, where she supports a growing team of engineers, application specialists, salespeople and marketers. In 2010, Nunes worked as a Human-Computer Interaction researcher at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology.

Akbar Vahidi is an Iranian researcher turned entrepreneur based in Singapore. After graduating in 2010 with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, he pursued a PhD in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Vahidi earned his PhD in 2015 and briefly worked as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University before returning to NUS to pursue research.At NUS, he was a part of a research group that developed a new enzyme screening method based on microfluidics technology. With fellow NUS PhD graduate Peyman Salehian, Vahidi secured an exclusive license to use the technology and established Allozymes, a startup that offers enzyme engineering services. Vahidi became the CTO of Allozymes.

Lewis Dunnigan is a researcher turned entrepreneur based in Australia. After earning a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and working as a researcher at the University of Edinburgh in the UK, Dunnigan returned to Australia. He had a brief stint as a visiting researcher and earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide.During his PhD, Dunnigan was a part of Philip Kwong’s research laboratory. His PhD project involved developing a system to generate activated charcoal and renewable energy from biomass. In 2017, Dunnigan, Kwong, and fellow PhD student Ben Morton decided to commercialize this technology and established a spin-off company called Bygen, which developed a low-cost, novel way to make activated carbon more sustainably using various forms of agricultural waste. Dunnigan is now the CEO of Bygen.

Angelo Syailendra is a veteran in business analysis and investment. After earning a bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering with summa cum laude from the University of Michigan in USA, he went to Stanford University to read a master’s in Economics and Finance. He worked as an analyst and associate in companies such as Morgan Stanley and Affinity Equity Partners. He also helped to establish foodtech startups Klik-Eat and BlackGarlic. Angelo is currently a director at a data centre company DCI Indonesia.

A recent Information Technology graduate of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, Adinda Budi Kusuma Putra co-founded Indonesian natural language processing startup Prosa.ai with his ITB lecturers. As a student, he had interned at unicorn travel portal Traveloka and event booking startup Goers while also developing an award-winning "hoax analyzer" as part of a school project.  Adinda left Prosa.ai in October 2018.

Nour Akbaraly completed a master’s in engineering at Centrale Lille and also a master’s in applied mathematics at Lille University in 2010. In 2011, Akbaraly joined industrial manufacturing consultancy firm Avencore as a consultant in Paris.The avid photographer and F&B enthusiast also went to various tea-tasting classes at a tea specialist college until 2015. Passionate about gastronomy, he began exploring alt-protein alternatives to address the environmental and ethical challenges of food supply chains.In 2016, he went on an engineering training course for agronomy and agri-food at AgroSup Dijon, the National Institute of Agronomic, Food and Environmental Sciences.A year later, he founded Les Noveaux Affineurs, a startup specializing in plant-based alternatives to cheese. His ambition is to create a new range of French gastronomic vegan cheese products for consumers in France and overseas.Since 2010, Akbaraly is also a volunteer at the Action Contre la Faim, a Paris-based international NGO founded in 1979. The “Action Against Hunger” projects include running awareness campaigns on food security issues in colleges and schools in France and other countries like India and Sudan.

New media and branding pro Wu Jing is a graduate of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (now named BeiHang University), and a former staff of ELLE magazine and leading advertising agency BBDO. The founder of GirlUp is also a co-founder of Happy Together (Chunguangli), a startup incubator and venture capital firm focusing on internet projects.

A CEO with a technical background, Daniel Witono is an ex-Microsoft software engineer with more than five years of experience in the development field.A computer engineering graduate from the University of New South Wales in Australia, Daniel founded the Jurnal startup with Anthony Kosasih, a friend also from the University of New South Wales.

After graduating from Indonesia’s Institut Teknologi Bogor (ITB) with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Faris Rahman worked as a freelance app developer and project coordinator who built custom HR and accounting solutions for Indonesian companies. Faris also had a stint with multinational firm KBR Inc and started a short-lived venture, Travellist-tour. In 2016, he established computer vision startup Nodeflux.

He studied for half a year at the University of Maryland after graduation, then went back to China and joined Sogou, a search engine startup that later grew into a unicorn. He worked in Sogou for seven years, then briefly at a recruitment website, before deciding to start Maimai.

Unbabel's Co-founder and CEO Vasco Pedro is a  language technology expert and serial entrepreneur and holds a bachelor’s degree in Language and Knowledge Engineering from the University of Lisbon, and a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Language Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University. While at Carnegie Mellon, he interned at Siemens Medical Solutions and Google. Before co-founding Unbabel, he had co-founded adtechs Bueda and Dezine. He is also a Mentor and Associate at Beta-i startup promotion association in Lisbon.

After graduating in 2008 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science from Purdue University, USA, Hendry Rusli worked for Motorola Solutions as a software engineer for a year before returning to Indonesia to become a software development entrepreneur.In 2014, he started working with a property company PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk that was owned by Christina Suriadjaja’s father. Armed with over eight years of programming and software development experience, Hendry was roped in to help build the Travelio platform for the property group.
