Formerly a debt analyst at the Portuguese Treasury and Government Debt Agency, José Salgado graduated in Management from the New University of Lisbon and holds master’s degrees in Finance from the University Institute of Lisbon and the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware. Salgado is currently Chief Growth Officer at 360imprimir, a B2B printing marketplace he co-founded in 2013 after passing on an offer of a free grant to study at INSEAD to establish his business. He also holds an MSc in Finance from Lisbon's Superior Institute of Domestic and Business Science.

Big Sur Ventures is a Spanish VC based in Madrid. It was co-founded by Jose Miguel Herrero and Manuel Matés both with extensive international experience in leading technology products and services companies and M&A. The fund invests in companies focused on SaaS, online marketplace and platforms, IT and digital media. Investments range from seed to later growth stage. The VC usually represents the first institutional capital in a company, leading or co-leading the round with capital injection of between €100,000 and €400.000 per round. 

Lanai Partners is an angel investors group based in Barcelona.The network of investors was formed in 2016 by a group of Spanish business angels and backed by strong partners and entrepreneurs, such as Airbnb (Europe, Middle East and Africa) managing director Jeroen Merchiers, Viko Group president Rubén Ferreiro, Housell CEO Guillermo Llibre and SocialCar founder and CEO Mar Alarcón.Lanai Partners mainly invests in early-stage funding rounds with a maximum capital of €200,000 per startup and focusing on the SaaS, marketplace and digital health sectors.

Ufi Ventures is the investment arm of Ufi VocTech Trust, a UK-based grant-funding body created following the sale of Learndirect in 2010. With an initial fund of £50m, the organization is focussed on delivering an increase in the scale of vocational learning. The firm can invest from £150,000 to £1m as equity or debt in early-stage companies. To date, its disclosed investments include many UK public-private training initiatives, plus seed investments in two tech startups: soft-skills VR software Bodyswaps (£470,000) and childcare marketplace Kinderly (£325,000). 

Based in Frankfurt, GreenTec Capital Partners is a German social impact investor that focuses on supporting African tech and non-tech startups. The VC plans to increase its investment portfolio to a total of 400 enterprises by 2023. Its current stake in 20 startups is estimated to be €32.5m. In 2020, GreenTec joined the pre-seed round of Nigerian online food cooperative Principally and seed round of Freshbag, a farmers’ marketplace in Cameroon. Recent investments also include AgroCenta’s seed funding in January 2021.

Indra Rukasyah is a co-founder and CTO of Kostoom. He is currently also working as an IT officer at PT Surya Nugraha Nusantara Finance.Indra has been involved in running several businesses with his wife Putry Yuliastutik. He was a co-founder of Bigalia, an online marketplace for heavy equipment in Indonesia that was set up in 2015. Besides Bigalia and Kostoom, he had also worked as a graphic and web designer at another joint enterprise iP Logo Design. Like his wife Putry, Indra was also a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Indonesia.

Ferry Tenka was the brains behind Indonesian online childcare products marketplace Bilna that later merged with Thai e-commerce giant Moxy to form Orami. He is currently Orami’s executive chairman and also heads its Indonesian operations as CEO of Bilna Indonesia.He briefly worked at SanDisk as a systems design engineer before setting up daily deals website Disdus.com that later became Groupon Indonesia. He was Groupon Indonesia’s CEO before he left in 2012 to start Bilna. Ferry read a degree in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, USA, where he met up with Jason Lamuda, a co-founder of Disdus.com, Bilna and Berrybenka.

Former Go-Jek operations manager Wisnu Nugrahadi has embarked on his own entrepreneurial journey, establishing gig marketplace app Sampingan in 2018.  After a brief stint as an intern at Uber Indonesia where he was part of the company's Bandung launch team, Wisnu joined on-demand transportation company Go-Jek in June 2015. He was promoted to head of operations for Go-Life (the lifestyle services arm of Go-Jek) within a few months of joining, after which he became senior operations manager in 2017. Wisnu graduated with a bachelor's in Business Administration from Universitas Padjadjaran, Indonesia in 2015. 

Sacha Gordillo is a business management and finance graduate from Comillas Pontifical University (ICADE), with over 10 years of experience in financial trading, specializing in fixed income. Since 2006, he has worked as a trader at TransMarket Group LLC, OSTC Ltd and SM Investments. He is now the CIO and head trader at POW Partners that he co-founded in 2016 in Madrid.The cryptocurrency ecosystem has always fascinated the veteran trader. In 2018, Gordillo joined GeoDB as co-founder and COO. He is one of the key figures in the conceptualization of GeoDB, a global decentralized data marketplace based in Madrid.

Nelson Pereira graduated in Graphic and Industrial Design at Aveiro University in 2005 and obtained a master’s in Engineering Design from the University of Porto in 2009. He also spent a year studying Digital Communications and Multimedia at the University of Porto in 2012.He has worked as a designer and brand manager for INEGI Porto for over nine years until 2015. He founded his first enterprise TOP Research in 2012 that later evolved into TOPDOX. Pereira currently works for Dropbox and Xpand IT. He is also co-founder and CEO of ikuTeam, a file-sharing developer for Atlassian Marketplace.  

Graphic and UI/UX designer Miguel Jesus is a graduate from Aveiro University, the alma mater of TOPDOX co-founder Nelson Pereira. Both men had also worked at INEGI Porto before becoming entrpreneurs. In 2012, the two friends co-founded startup TOP Research that participated in Rockstart's accelerator program in 2014 and pivoted into TOPDOX. However, since the demise of TOPDOX in December 2017, Jesus is now working as lead designer at Swiss food sustainability platform Foodways. In 2018, the university mates have co-founded another tech startup ikuTeam, with Jesus as lead designer. The file-sharing platform is part of Atlassian Marketplace.

Diliara Lupenko is the COO and co-founder of Impress, an invisible aligners company regarded as one of the fastest-growing telemedicine startups in Europe. Prior to Impress, Lupenko served for over eight years as COO and CFO of Aquaton, a bathroom furniture plant and a subsidiary of the ROCA Group. She also worked in the Transaction Service Group in KPMG, managing financial due diligence of over 100 targets, pre-sale preparation of vendors, and restructuring, amongst other tasks. Impress is not Lupenko’s first entrepreneurial experience. In 2013 she co-founded Style Me Up the first Russian marketplace for designers of jewelry and accessories.

Pablo Fernandez Alveraz is the CEO and co-founder of Clicars.com, an online marketplace for second-hand cars. Clicars secured investments from former executives working at Mercedes, General Motors, Santander Bank and Mapfre. He has degrees from Harvard Business School and the University of Madrid. He spent over 14 years working as an investment banker and consultant in Europe, USA and Latin America before diving into the world of startups. The former Boston Consulting Group (BCG) consultant was also part of the team that led the corporate strategy and digital transformation of Santander Bank in the US.

Nauta Capital is one of the oldest VC funds in Spain with offices in London, Munich and Barcelona. It focusses its investment on SaaS companies in Europe and the US east-coast, but the firm’s portfolio includes startups specialized in cyber security, retail, HR, marketplace and platform, marketing and social intelligence as well as big data and analytics.The firm usually participates in Series A rounds from €500,000 to €7 million with an average ticket for first investments of between €1 million and €3 million. Nauta Capital occasionally invests in late-seed and Series B rounds.
