Born in 1972, Wang started out in finance in 1992 at Xiangcai Securities, where she was employed in multiple capacities. She founded Noah Wealth Management in 2005 and has served as chairperson and CEO ever since. In 2010, Noah became China's first wealth management firm to go public in the US. Wang holds an EMBA from China Europe International Business School.

Established in 2018, Robot Union is a pan-European robotics association that is funded by the European Union. It is an EU initiative under the Horizon 2020 program for investment in research and innovation across sectors and countries. Through various competitions, robotics startups can win equity-free awards of up to €223,000 each. Robot Union selected its first batch of 20 startups in September 2018.  

Established in Beijing on January 12, 1996, China Minsheng Banking Corporation Limited was China’s first national joint-stock commercial bank established mainly by non-state-owned enterprises. As of June 2017, it had total assets worth RMB 5767.2 billion. The firm now employs around 57,000 people at nearly 3,000 branches, sub-branches and outlets. It was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2000 and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2009.

Grand China Capital is a Beijing-based venture capital firm. It invests mainly in media, entertainment, sports, tourism, and smart manufacturing sectors. It provides businesses with services such as financial investment, strategic consulting and data-based marketing. Grand China Capital co-launched a RMB 2 billion fund with Japan's SBI Group (previously known as Softbank Investment Co., Ltd) in September 2018 to drive tech development in the Asia Pacific region.

Based in San Francisco, SV Angel was founded in 2009 by Ron Conway, one of Silicon Valley’s super-angels. The firm was originally Conway’s personal investment vehicle that was later turned into a VC with initial investment capital of $10m from external investors.The firm typically invests in early-seed stage rounds, supporting portfolio companies in M&A, business development and financing. Investments include US unicorns like Dropbox, Slack, Pinterest and Airbnb.

Evonik Venture Capital is the investment arm of Evonik Industries AG, a chemicals specialty provider in Germany. The firm also has offices in the US and China.With a fund size of €250m, Evonik has made more than 30 investments since 2012. The VC mainly invests in sectors such as nutrition & care, specialty additives and smart materials. Its portfolio includes early to growth stage startups, with investments of €15m per portfolio company.

Established in 2017, Educapital invests in edtech, HR and training tech startups. The French VC has stakes in 19 companies, mostly based in Europe, including participation in the €5m Series B funding of French Supermood, a contractor’s workplace engagement tool.In the edtech space, Educapital has recently joined a R$1.7m seed investment round for Brazilian edtech Blox and a €10m Series B round for Preply, a Ukrainian edtech specializing in online language learning.

Founded in 2016, Paris-based Future Positive Capital invests in European startups in deep tech and biotechnology to solve major problems, with funding for only 20 portfolio startups.  It has backed eight startups to date with its most recent investments being in the April 2021 undisclosed €5.2m funding round of French renewable energytech SWEETCH Energy and in the £7.9m Series A round of British ecosystem restoration technology Dendra Systems in September 2020. 

Founded in 1972, Kleiner Perkins, formerly Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) is one of the world’s largest venture capital firms.The firm has raised $10bn through 20 venture funds and four growth funds and has invested in over 850 companies worldwide. Its China advisory team was founded in 2007 with a fund of $360m. It has invested in many of China’s star enterprises, including one of the country’s largest e-commerce platform JD.com.  

Haier Medical, a health-focused IoT-concept brand, is grouped under Yinkang Life, an arm of the Haier Group Corporation. It is an integrated health platform comprising physical hospitals and online medical services. As to its rehabilitation for intensive illnesses, for example,  Haier Medical has rehabilitation hospitals that offer both physical treatment and Internet-based consultation so that patients spend less time there than in a normal medical facility. Besides rehabilitation, Haier Medical also focuses on cancer treatment, aged care services, and family health management services. Overall, it has a network of 16 hospitals with 8,000 beds, serving over 1m people every year. 

Founded in Silicon Valley by serial investor and founder of Google Ventures Bill Marris, Section 32 has multiple investment interests with medicine and biotech key amongst them.  Marris himself has invested in over 500 companies, with over one-third resulting in IPO or M&A. Fifty of his portfolio companies have exceeded $1bn valuations, including Uber.  Section 32 currently has 48 companies in its portfolio. Its most recent investments have included in Canadian remote medicine platform Cover Health’s $43m Series B round and in the $100m Series B round of US cancer detection software C2i Genomics, both in April 2021. In March 2021, it participated in the $48m Series A round of Dutch cell-based meat startup Meatable which leverages pluripotent stem cells for the first time in foodtech.

Founded in Washington DC in 2016, AV Ventures is co-founded by US not-for-profit organizations, the Agricultural Cooperative Development International and Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance.AV Ventures focuses on supporting SMEs that facilitate financing for farmers to improve sustainable supply chain management and boost social impact in Africa and Central Asia. Investments in tech startups include the $790,000 seed round of AgroCenta in January 2021. Through AV Frontiers in Bishkek, the VC also recently participated in April’s investment round of Kyrgyzstan-based ololoAkJol Resort, a hub for digital nomads, or independent remote workers.

Founded in 2011 in Leipzig, Monkfish Equity offers a hands-off investment approach, providing funding of €0.5m–€2m to enterprises across market segments in Germany, other European countries and the US.The firm is run by the co-founders of travel and hotel platform Trivago. Monkfish’s portfolio of 12 companies mainly comprises businesses in the B2C markets. Investments include the $54m Series B round of Austrian marketplace Refurbed in August 2021 and the €8m Series A round of Inne, a German fertility-tracking platform in October 2019.

Founded in 2016, Certain Capital is a subsidiary company of Dangdai Group focusing on investment in healthcare, culture and consumer industries.
