One of Baidu's first AI hire in the US, James Peng (Peng Jun) had worked at Google for seven years, specializing in back-end and front-end advertising systems. The Tsinghua University graduate with an MS from the University of Buffalo and PhD in engineering from Stanford University was invited by Wang Jing, senior vice president of Baidu, to start Baidu Research US. In 2015, he was promoted to Baidu's Chief Architect in charge of R&D of autonomous driving. At the end of 2016, Peng left Baidu and co-founded Pony.ai with another ex-Baidu employee, the coding whiz, Lou Tiancheng.

As an undergraduate between 2012 and 2015, he interned at companies in the US and Indonesia, including Ernst & Young, Boston Consulting Group and PwC. After graduating in 2015, he worked at ARIS, an investment consulting firm based in California before returning to Indonesia in 2017 to establish Synergo, a human resources management software startup.

Agustín Gómez (b. 1979) is a co-founder and President of Wallapop, based in Barcelona, Spain. Together with Gerard Olivé and Miguel Vicente, he set up Wallapop in 2013. Before setting up Wallapop, Gómez attended ESADE Business School where he studied Sales Management, Distribution and Marketing Operations. He also worked as a Business Consultant for Accenture and Boston Business Group and worked in innovation and business development at iSOCO.

Then he became the sales director of Miguel Ángel Palomo SA to expand the Spanish olive business internationally. After graduating, he worked as a developer at telecom equipment maker Huawei from 2008 to 2015. In 2012, Zhao created yunweipai.com, China's first nonprofit online community to provide IT maintenance advice. In 2015, he resigned from Huawei and launched Makebang, a software crowdsourcing platform. Recognizing the limited growth potential of the industry, Zhao sold Makebang in 2017. In 2017, he co-founded Tiantian Xuenong with Yan Zitong, a friend from university, and became its CEO.
