Established in 2017 in the UK, Firstminute Capital's investments are founders-driven, rather than by investment sectors. The early-stage venture capital firm has already invested in 32 companies in the US, UK, mainland Europe and Israel. In mid-2018, it raised its first fund of US$100m from 30 unicorns. Recent investments include in the Series A round of tax reclaim company Wevat, in peer-to-peer (P2P) fiat to crypto exchange platform Ramp's pre-seed round and in the seed round of cannabis e-commerce site Miss Grass. 

MidPlaza Holding is a holding company consisting of businesses in property development and information technology. Founded in 1983, the company’s brands include a major internet service provider Biznet and the Ayana group of residential properties and hotels.

Chongqing Environmental Fund was established by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Chongqing Municipal Government in June 2015. As of late December 2018, the fund has invested RMB 448m in 28 projects. It has launched 13 funds with a total capital of about RMB 8bn.

It has backed some of the most successful startups including Airbnb, Stripe and Deliveroo, and, to date, has invested in 243 companies, with 193 in its portfolio currently.  A prolific investor, often making 10 investments or more per month, its most recent investments include in the July 2021 $5m seed round of US medtech, Evvy, designers of a vaginal microbiome test. In the same week, the investor participated in the $150m Series B round of Remote, a Silicon Valley-based platform for remote worker management and administration. 

Founded in 2020 in Boulder, Colorado, Trailhead Capital is a specialist agtech and foodtech investor that focuses on startups in the US, Canada, Australia and Israel. The VC’s regenerative agriculture portfolio includes investments in food ingredients traceability, food supply chains, reducing food waste and soil health environmental management.Recent investments include in the $12m Series A round of Vence, a US-based producer of virtual fencing wearables for livestock management in May 2021. In February 2021, it also participated in the $6m funding round of foodtech HowGood that specializes in rating the sustainability of grocery products.

Founded in 1994, London-based Hermes GPE is a subsidiary of NYSE-listed Federated Hermes Inc (FHI). The UK limited liability partnership (LLP) is one of the UK’s leading independent investors with $7bn pumped into 260 funds. With a network of over 300 general partners worldwide, the LLP also works with global LPs like BT Pension Scheme, Royal Bank of Scotland and Korea Teachers Credit Union.Hermes started investing in tech startups in 2002 and has provided over $3.7bn worth of co-funding to both tech and non-tech startups via 234 fundraising rounds. Managing assets worth $6bn and international offices in New York and Singapore, sustainability is at the core of its investing portfolio of over 113 startups worldwide. In 2021, recent investments include participation in the $54m Series B round of Austrian refurbished electronics goods marketplace Refurbed in August and May’s $125m Series B round of Paysend, the UK-based card-to-card pioneer and international payments platform.

The Zhang brothers co-founded Suning in 1987 and divided the business in 1999 into Suning Universal, listed as one of the top 20 real estate companies in China, and Suning Commerce, one of the largest appliance retailers in China. The investment conducted by Suning Universal in China mainly focuses on culture and entertainment industry. Suning Universal is expanding to the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Australia, France and South Korea, seeking investment opportunities in real estate, entertainment, healthcare, and culture industries.

Founded in 2013, Telstra’s muru-D accelerator has so far worked with 44 startups, with total revenue generated of over AUD 7.8 million. Telstra also has another venture capital arm that connects with technology businesses at a much later stage in their life cycles and looks to build strategic alliances. muru-D companies receive AUD 20,000 at the start of the program and if they achieve specific milestones by the midpoint of the program they unlock a further AUD 20,000. The accelerator has also dropped the requirement that companies raise AUD15,000 from mentors and investors.

DFS168.com is a B2C e-commerce platform for agricultural materials. DFS168.com sells to major agricultural provinces in China such as Jiangxi, Heibei and Anhui. Upon noticing Chinese farmers' lack of agricultural expertise and technical knowledge, the team at DFS168.com came up with the idea of building an agricultural education platform. However, the company decided not to launch the business itself, worried farmers might misinterpret the platform as simply a means to sell more products. Instead, founder Yan Zitong co-founded Tiantian Xuenong, an independent company, with Zhao Guang, and DFS168.com assumed the role of angel investor.

Established in 2016, LEADx Capital Partners is a German-based VC and is the investment arm of major retailer METRO Group. Since its founding, the VC has invested in 36 different companies, with a special focus on European retail, the same sector as METRO Group. It has already had one successful exit, the M&A of GuestU, which provides free internet to tourists. LEADx was the lead investor in the €18m Series B round of online printing marketplace 360imprimir, known as 360 Onlineprint in markets outside Iberia and Latin America.

Sky Ocean Ventures is a £25m impact investment fund and part of the Sky Media Group. It was launched in 2018 with the goal of accelerating businesses that can tackle global plastic pollution with innovative ideas and disruptive technologies. The firm has backed 20 startups that have developed solutions that help mitigate plastic disposals in the environment, such as disposable bottles made of paper, reusable delivery boxes, sachets made from seaweed and packaging made from wood chips. Sky Ocean Ventures also partners with, among others, The National Geographic and the Imperial College in London. 

Established in 2003, COTEC Portugal is a business association which seeks to advance technological development and innovation cooperation. Its network  comprises multinationals and SMEs operating across most sectors whose gross added value represents more than 16% of Portugal's national GDP and 8% of private employment. COTEC Portugal has an Innovative SME Network that seeks to promote public knowledge of its members, attract investment and help them grow internationally. The president of Portugal is the honorary president of COTEC Portugal.

Yangon-based social impact investor Phandeeyar Accelerator was born out of Code for Change Myanmar, a series of hackathons in 2014 and its accelerator is the Yangon chapter of Founder Institute.  It is a keen part of Myanmar’s nascent tech ecosystem.With a $2m fund, the VC began investing in local startups in 2017 with a maximum funding of $25,000. It has invested in 17 companies including restaurant booking app Resdi and apartment sharing app Nay Var.

Born in 1961, Li Zexiang was an undergraduate at Central South Institute of Mining Metallurgy in 1978. From 1979 to 1992, he studied and worked in the US, earning a doctoral degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 1989. He worked as an AILab researcher at MIT in 1989. In 1990, he joined NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences as an associate professor.In 1992, he returned to China and worked as a professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ever since. In 1999, he founded motor control company Googol Tech. He is well-known for incubating DJI and became the chairman of Shenzhen-based drone and aerial photography systems company.
