Media Digital Ventures is the first Spanish Cross-Media fund focusing on Media for Equity. It holds multichannel advertising assets across major media sectors. Based in Barcelona, MDV also creates multimedia and advertising campaigns for scaling high-growth startups in return for equity.MDV is co-founded by Gerard Olivé and Miguel Vicente. Both are serial entrepreneurs, investors and co-founders of Antai Venture Builder, Wallapop, Deliberry and Chicplace. Vicente, who exited LetsBonus which he founded in 2009, is also the president of Barcelona Tech City.

Singapore-based VC Jungle Ventures set up its SeedPlus fund in 2016. The SGD 25m fund is backed by a diverse range of investors including Eight Roads, Infocomm Investments, Accel Partners, RNT Associates, SGInnovate and Cisco. A fund run by Jungle Ventures partner and Indian tycoon Ratan Tata has also contributed to SeedPlus.Early-stage investments of SGD 0.5–1m are available for startups in Southeast Asia. The fund also provides hands-on expertise and support services, including resources from partners like Google SEA and PwC Singapore.

Founded in October 2013, JD Finance was renamed as JD Digits in November 2018. Mustard Seed MAZE is a Lisbon-based VC firm that invests in early-stage startups, primarily in social impact enterprises. Founded in 2016 in Boulder, Colorado, Blackhorn specializes in startup investment in potential game-changers for industry, including construction – its top priority for investment – manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, water and energy. It has no geographical bias and currently has 48 companies in its portfolio with two acquisitions to date. Its most recent investments include in the undisclosed $8m round of US medtech Cytovale in January 2021 and in the $20.5m December 2020 Series A round of employees compensation fintech Foresight Risk, based in Silicon Valley.

San Francisco-based DCVC, formerly named Data Collective, has made more than 400 investments in its 20 year history, with deep tech and science in general its key investment interests. It currently has 148 companies in its portfilio and has managed 48 exits to date, including acquisitions by Twitter and Amazon. Its most recent investments have included in the April 2021 £60m Series A round of British antibody medtech Alchemab Therapeutics and in the March 2021 $75m Series B round of Israeli blockchain development tool StarkWare Industries.

Founded in July 2013, Liangjiang Capital directly manages a total asset of around RMB 5 billion. Liangjiang Capital mainly invests in the fields including telecommunication, new media, medical instrument, bio-engineering, clean technology, information technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Liangjiang Capital provides invested companies with both funding support and services of financial, legal and management consulting. 

Swanlaab Venture Factory is a Spanish-Israeli VC fund founded in 2013 in Israel and in 2017 in Madrid,  whose first investment fund totalled €40 million. Within Spain, its portfolio has 11 startups across different B2B verticals. Each startup selected for investment during investment rounds of €2–3 million, receives funds of €500,000 to €1.5 million.Swanlaab's Israeli backer Giza Venture Capital has already achieved more than 40 successful exits and is ranked amongst the top funds worldwide, investing over $600 million since 1992.Its most recent investments include in edtech and multimedia content platform Odilo’s July 2020 $10m undisclosed round and in the €3.5m Series A investment round of sales tech Sales Layer in May 2020.

Singapore's government-owned investor has a net portfolio value of just over S$300bn, with assets mainly in Asia and Singapore. In recent years it has begun investing in internet and tech companies in emerging markets, including in neighboring Indonesia and other Asian countries.As a state investor, Temasek aligns its investment portfolio and goals with areas that are relevant to Singapore’s national agenda. It is also investing in biotechnology, medical technology, agritech and foodtech companies, which are some new focus areas in Singapore’s industrial development.

Cathay Innovation invests in small to medium-sized companies with the potential to rapidly grow internationally. By 2016, Cathay Innovation had conducted 59 investments, with a total investment of €514 million. It has offices in France, China, the US and Germany, with €1.2 billion under management.

Transformed from the well-established state-owned Govtor Capital in 1992, Addor Capital is one of the most influential investment institutions in China today. It manages more than RMB 75 billion, and has set up more than 70 different investment funds, backing more than 650 startups.

Founded in 2009, Modara Technologies invests in SMEs in the Spanish startup ecosystem. Modara provides equity, as well as operational and organizational support. The firm comprises international partners offering a wide range of investment, management and business experience.

Shanghai Guohe Capital was set up in 2009 by Shanghai International Group, a state-owned financial institution. It is China’s first private fund management company to obtain the qualification of private equity fund manager. The firm currently runs multiple funds with assets worth over RMB 10bn.
