WA4STEAM is a not-for-profit organization that provides seed capital with an investment focus on supporting women with projects and ideas applicable to STEAM sectors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Architecture and Mathematics).The association is composed of women with backgrounds and experiences in biosciences, mathematics, finance, engineering, law, accounting and coaching. It offers significant support to the founders during the early stages of the startup cycle.WA4STEAM cooperates with a network of co-investors, VC funds, family offices, accelerators and incubators. Next Chance Invest SL is part of the family firm Next Chance Group that was founded in 2010 by Nicolás Luca de Tena, a well-known Spanish entrepreneur and angel investor. The firm has a team of cybersecurity consultants, technology lawyers, university professors and marketing specialists. Abanlex is well-known for its 2014 victory over Google in the 'Right to be forgotten' case, in which the European Court of Justice established the legal basis of responsibility of search engines concerning data and links appearing when searching for a specific name.Since 2011, Abanlex has been dedicated to defending blockchain project at national and European level, and has provided legal representation to companies in the legal-tech sector. 

Ramiro Salamanca is a well-known Spanish lawyer. He holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an Executive Master's in Public Management from IE Business School.For more than eight years, Salamanca worked as a lawyer for the Community of Madrid, where he served the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Land Management; the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Government Spokesman. He was director of legal advice to Madrid Metro from 2012 to 2015.Since 2016, he has acted as CLO of Reclamador.es, a web platform that manages and automates consumer claims.

AIA Group is the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the group operates in 18 markets across Asia-Pacific. In 2014, AIA began to partner with venture capital firms to launch AIA Accelerator to support innovative and disruptive startups.AIA Group was originally founded in Shanghai, under the name of American Asiatic Underwriters. In 1939, the founder Cornelius Vander Starr relocated the head office to New York. AIA became a subsidiary of American International Group (AIG). AIA was listed in Hong Kong in 2010 and AIG sold all its shares of AIA Group in 2012.

Beatriz González is Spain’s first and only female head of a venture capital firm. In 2013, she founded Seaya Ventures and became the MD of one of Spain’s top 10 VC funds. The VC also has interests in South America. Its portfolio includes 17 mid to large startups like Cabify, Glovo and Wallbox. The VC focuses on the internet, digital and media sectors, backing startups with investments of €5–10 million each. González is also a board member for numerous startups including Cabify and Glovo. As an angel investor, she has invested in the pre-seed and seed rounds of Spanish femtech WOOM.

Fondazione Marche, founded in 2009, is a private, non-profit business promotion organization that operates exclusively in the Italian territory of the Marche Region in central-eastern Italy. It is based in the regional capital Ancona. The organization was established by local business leaders in association with banks Banca Popolare di Ancona and BPU, who funded the company with €15m.  It invests across sectors and technologies, with both tech and non-tech startups supported. Its most recent investment to date was in Italo-Spanish insect protein flour manufacturer Nutrinsect, with a €350,000 pre-seed investment in May 2020. 

Founded in 1999, KITVEN is a state investor in startups in the Indian state of Karnataka. Major investment sectors include biotech, animation, visual effects, electronics, manufacturing, gaming and comics. Based in Bengaluru, the office is run by Karnataka Asset Management Company Private Limited.KITVEN has invested in more than 50 startups. In 2019, the VC invested in String Bio’s Series A round and joined the $2.2m seed round of smart lock startup Open App. Backed by state and central government financial institutions, the VC manages five funds: KITVEN Fund, KITVEN Fund 2, KITVEN Fund 3 Biotech, KITVEN Fund 4 and Karnataka Semiconductor Venture Capital Fund (KARSEMVEN Fund).

Orkla ASA is an Oslo-based supplier of branded consumer products to major markets in the Nordic and Baltic regions and Central Europe. Selected product categories are also available in India, known as MTR Foods brand. Popular brands include Felix, Toro, Panda and Abba.Originally founded in 1654, Orkla is one of Norway’s oldest business conglomerates and became public-listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (ORKLY) in 1929. Orkla Foods accounts for 39% of the group’s operating revenues. Two other subsidiaries, Orkla Care and Orkla Food Ingredients generate about 43% of the group’s operating revenues. The Orkla Confectionery & Snacks division contributes about 15%.

Part of the larger Sonae Group of companies, Sonae IM was launched in 2015 and is the corporate venture arm for tech-based investments. Since their launch, they have backed various companies particularly in the retail technology sector. These include StyleSage (fashion tech in predictive analytics) and InovRetail (demand forecasting for retailers).

Mariko Asmara Yoshihara is the managing director and chairperson of PT JAC Indonesia, which is part of the multinational JAC Recruitment group. She is also one of the most active angel investors in ANGIN, a prominent network of Indonesia’s top angel investors. Her investment focus lies in empowerment, capacity building and agriculture.

The investment fund was established in 1998 by Luis Martín Cabiedes, one of the most prominent business angels in Spain. The VC provides funds for early-stage growth of internet and technology ventures in Spain, acting initially as a business angel and then becoming a venture capitalist for future funding rounds.

Rocky Pesik is the son of Rudy Pesik, founder of the Caraka Group of logistics companies and Birotika Semesta, DHL's partner company in Indonesia. Rocky is a director at both the Caraka Group and Birotika Semesta and has invested in two startups, logistics startup Pakde and international shopping intermediary GudangImpor.

Navarre-based Orizont is a Spanish accelerator that invests in its accelerated companies at the pre-seed and seed stages. It invests in agritech and local startups. Established in 2015, Orizont is managed by Sodena, the development agency of the Navarre Autonomous Community. It has accelerated 22 companies to date.

Huihe Capital was initiated by JD Logistics, the logistics arm of China’s e-retailer JD.com in 2019. The VC limited partners include JD Logistics, JD.com, listed companies and government-led funds. JD Logistics has already raised RMB 1.5bn for the VC fund to invest in logistics-related startups and technologies.
