The International Financial Corporation (IFC) was founded in 1956 and is a member of the World Bank Group. It is one of the world’s largest development institutions focusing on the private sector in developing countries. It operates in more than 100 countries and has leveraged US$2.6 billion in capital from the private investment sector to deliver more than US$265 billion in financing for businesses.

DCP Capital is an international private equity firm that mainly invests in Asia. The DCP team previously led KKR and Morgan Stanley’s private equity businesses in Asia. Over the past 27 years, it has invested in a number of leading enterprises including Ping An Insurance, Mengniu Dairy, CICC and Haier Electronics. Its existing investors include leading sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments, family offices and funds of funds (FOF) across the world.In April 2019, DCP successfully raised over $2bn for its first Greater China-focused USD fund known as DCP Capital Partners I. The fund mainly invests in diverse sectors including consumer goods, industrial technology, healthcare, agrifood, enterprise tech, financial services and technology, media & telecom (TMT).

Iberis Capital is a Portuguese investor established in 2017. Currently with 10 investments with more than €100m under management, it invests in both tech and non-tech startups and in real estate. Iberis was founded by ex-partner at Oxy Capital Luís Quaresma and João Henriques, ex-CFO of Vodafone Portugal. One of its prominent portfolio companies is Australian medtech LBT Innovations that seeks to automate healthcare processes and, to date, has the only US Food and Drug Administration-cleared instrument leveraging AI in clinical microbiology. Its most recent investment was a participation in a €32m Series C investment round in December 2020 for Portugal-based international online print store, 360imprimir.

Capital V is a French rural-based investor that only invests in solutions that facilitate sustained behavioral change and eliminate the consumption of animal products. Its investments range from €10,000 to €1m and currently has 20 startups in its portfolio, mainly plant-based meat makers.In 2020, it announced its participation in Pitch & Plant 2020, the global investment competition by Vevolution for plant-based and animal-free startups, offering £100,000 to finalists. Among its recent investments are participation in the extended 2020 seed round of THIS, a UK-based plant-based meat startup that has raised over £6m to date and, in August 2020, in vegan confectionary manufacturer, Livia’s that has raised over £1m so far.

KEEN Growth Capital is an impact VC focusing on early-stage investments in companies that generate revenues of $200,000–$2m in the F&B, health or wellness sectors with an addressable market size above $300m. Investments in food segments include clean snacking, healthy eating and science tech-driven health products.Since 2017, the VC has been managing two capital funds. The KGC Fund I has yielded exits and late-stage valuations with returns of six to 75 times. The $40m KGC Fund II is directed at companies with a social and environmental impact in nutritional well-being, disease mitigation and life science technologies.

Vesalius Biocapital III is a €70 million fund that invests in medtech, e-health initiatives and drug development in Europe. It was launched in 2017 by Luxembourg-based Vesalius Biocapital, a life sciences venture capital firm founded in 2007.  Preceding Vesalius Biocapital III were Vesalius Biocapital I, with €76 million under management and Vesalius Biocapital II, which has €78 million invested; both funds have 11 portfolio companies each.Its recent investments include in Portuguese home physiotherapy tech solution SWORD Health's 2021 $25m Series B and in the 2020 $9m second phase of its Series A round as well as in the 2020 €22m Series B round of German biotech Topas Therapeutics. 

Founded in 2012, Purple Orange’s objective is to support the transition away from animals in the food chain, supporting early-stage food and biotech companies across the globe with a focus on alternative proteins and cellular agriculture. It currently has 12 startups from different nations in its portfolio. Its most recently disclosed investments have been in the December 2020 pre-seed round of Chinese cultured meat startup CellX and in the November 2020 $500,000 pre-seed round of Swedish plant-based food vending startup VEAT. 

Cathay Innovation invests in small to medium-sized companies with the potential to rapidly grow internationally. By 2016, Cathay Innovation had conducted 59 investments, with a total investment of €514 million. It has offices in France, China, the US and Germany, with €1.2 billion under management.

Transformed from the well-established state-owned Govtor Capital in 1992, Addor Capital is one of the most influential investment institutions in China today. It manages more than RMB 75 billion, and has set up more than 70 different investment funds, backing more than 650 startups.

Founded in 1996, HMC Venture is a subsidiary of the Harmony Group, a conglomerate that specializes in startup investment and chemical trade. HMC Venture’s investments focus on Internet-based FinTech and the enterprise service business, the medical and biological business and private equity.

Established in 1987 by the National Economic Commission and the Chinese Academy of Sciences as the Foundation for Economic Development, the renamed CAS Investment Management Co., Ltd. was transformed into a limited liability company in 2006. It has invested in and made profitable more than 300 technology projects.

Headquartered in Nanjing, Fullshare Group was founded in 2002 and listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 2013. Its business includes multiple industries, namely, tourism, education, healthcare, real estate and renewable energy. It has expanded to Europe, America, Africa, Central Asia and Australia. 

Founded in 2009, Modara Technologies invests in SMEs in the Spanish startup ecosystem. Modara provides equity, as well as operational and organizational support. The firm comprises international partners offering a wide range of investment, management and business experience.

Provident Capital is a Singapore-based venture capital firm, investing mostly in Indonesian businesses. Its portfolio spans various industries, including telecommunications, mining and agriculture. It has also invested in JD.id, the Indonesian branch of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com, as well as Indonesian microlending startup JULO.
