A former investment banker, Wen Ronghui holds an MBA from Peking University. Before founding Talkmate, Wen spent five years in education both as a university lecturer and as a principal of a Beijing language school owned by Nasdaq-listed China Bilingual Technology & Education Group. Prior to that, he was an investment banker for eight years, taking more than 10 companies public.

A product operations specialist with a decade of experience, Xu Weihao majored in Electronics at Tianjin University of Technology. He was manager of the product department at internet giant Sohu, and of the operations department at mobile search player YiCha. 

Formerly from Google Singapore, Winston Utomo earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2012 and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University in 2014. Hailing from Surabaya, he was the president of USC Association of Indonesian Students during his studies at USC. Before co-founding the media company PT IDN Media in June 2014, Winston was a Senior Account Strategist at Google Singapore until October 2015. He was also a project manager at St. John Capital Management in 2012.Besides being the co-founder and CEO of IDN Media, he is also the Editor-in-Chief of IDN Media that owns IDNtimes.

Yu Jingyi earned a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology in 2000. He went on to obtain a doctorate in Computer and Electronic Engineering from MIT in 2005.From 2005 to 2015, he was a professor at the Department of Computer & Information Sciences at the University of Delaware. In 2015, he returned to China and joined ShanghaiTech University as the director of the Virtual Reality and Visual Computing Center. He is currently the dean of the School of Information Science and Technology. He founded DGene as CEO in May 2016. His research focuses on computer vision, computational imaging, computer graphics and bioinformatics.  

Zhang Haoqian completed a doctorate degree in systems and synthetic biology at Peking University in 2016. He has published more than 20 papers in international academic journals. In 2019, he was honored as one of China's 100 Most Creative People in Business. He is also a member of the Synthetic Biology Committee under China Society of Biotechnology.Peking University has participated in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competitions, with Zhang as a team member or leader between 2008 and 2010. The team has won gold medals twice at the iGEM competitions supported by MIT. He was also coaching the university’s iGEM team from 2011 until 2017. Zhang also founded the committee of China iGEMer Community.In 2010, Zhang met fellow iGEMer and Bluepha co-founder Li Teng at the iGEM giant jamboree event. They co-founded SynBio startup Bluepha in 2016, a spin-off from Tsinghua University.

University of British Columbia alumna Clarissa Leung had worked as a software engineer at ATR Humanoid Robotics Computational Neuroscience, Panasonic and Barclays Investment bank before dipping her toes into the entrepreneurial world in Canada. After her MBA at Queen’s University in Ontario, Clarissa moved to Indonesia in 2014 to join venture capital fund AccelerAsia as managing director. However, she left a year later to become a co-founder of on-demand household services startup Seekmi and was appointed its CEO in 2016.

Pharmacist-turned-illustrator Eduardo Esteves has more than three decades of experience in paper and digital publishing. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Coimbra in 1991. He became a serial entrepreneur in 1998 as co-founder of Ciberbit SA. In 2012, he also co-founded CoolApps with university alumni João Igor and Liliana Marques.In 2014, they established CoolFarm to develop SaaS indoor farming solutions. In January 2015, he left Ciberbit and CoolApps to focus on developing and marketing CoolFarm B2B products. Since CoolFarm's insolvency, Esteves has worked as a creative consultant based in Coimbra.

After graduating with an Industrial Engineering degree from Purdue University in the US, Sean DeWitt became a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He later worked at the US Department of State and the Fund for New York City.In 2007, he joined the nonprofit Grameen Foundation that was established by Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus. As part of the nonprofit, he helped Aldi Haryopratomo establish the social enterprise Ruma.  DeWitt currently works for the World Resource Institute. He also holds master’s degrees in Development Finance and Environmental Economics from the University of London.

A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Rebeca Minguela founded Blink, a hotel booking app that was acquired by Groupon, and Clarity.AI, a SaaS optimizing the social impact of investments. She holds an engineering degree from UPM (Technical University of Madrid) Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, and a master’s in Information Technology from the University of Stuttgart. After working at IBM, Siemens, the German Space Agency and BCG, she won a scholarship to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School. She later led Santander Bank’s Global Digital Transformation Program. She was born in 1981 in Valladolid, Spain.

A graduate of South China University of Technology, Lin Zhongjie started a firm even while he was in university, which used mathematical models to provide data analysis services to over 20 businesses. Upon graduation, he worked for China Mobile. In 2014, he started another company to work on equity-based crowdfunding for dietary and entertainment businesses and served as its COO. In 2015, he co-founded DuduBus, where he is now mainly in charge of the shared-car business PonyCar, which was incubated by DuduBus.

Liu Long graduated from Northwestern Polytechnic University based in Xi'an in 2010. The Information and Computing Science graduate went on to the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to pursue a PhD in Microwave Remote Sensing in 2015. He stayed on at the IRSA as a research fellow with funding support from the Youth Science Fund program under the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2016, he co-founded agtech startup McFly with two Wuhan University alumni who are also experts in remote sensing technology.

Peter Tucker is the CTO and co-founder of Chicago-based pioneering  circular economy B2B asset reuse platform Rheaply, where he has worked full-time since 2016. Before that, he worked at online mortgage lender Guaranteed Rate as Senior Software Engineer for almost four years and, before that, as a software developer at Rosenthal Collins Group and Flippex. Tucker also briefly worked as a business analyst and spent five years as a software developer at University of Iowa Health Care. He holds a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems from the University of Northern Iowa.
