China's largest seed fund, ZhenFund was set up in 2011 by Xu Xiaoping (Bob Xu), Wang Qiang (Victor Wang) and Sequoia Capital China. The original ZhenFund (or ZhenFund 1.0) was founded in 2006 when Xu began investing as an angel investor, after the New Oriental Education & Technology Group he co-founded went public on NYSE. Du Yucun is the son of Du Sha, one of China’s most well-known and respected entrepreneurs. Du Sha is the founder and chairman of Pacific Links, a former acclaimed Professor of Economics at the Nankai University, and founder of HomeWorld Group. Founded by Li Shujun, the former CFO of Shengda, in 2006, Trustbridge Partners is a venture capital and private equity firm focusing on growth-stage and expansion-stage investments in Chinese companies in new energy, environmental protection, new materials, new media, retailing, healthcare, education, e-commerce, etc. The sources of its funds come mainly from university foundations in the US (such as Columbia University, Stanford University, New York University), world-renowned investment firms (Temasek Holdings, Kerry Group, etc.), and private investors.

NYSE-listed TAL Education Group, which operates under the brand "Xueersi," is a leading K-12 after-school tutoring services provider in China.

Zhang Zetian is the wife of JD.com founder and CEO Richard Liu (Liu Qiangdong).

Founded in 1996, LB Investment (formerly LG Venture Investment) is supported by LG, the Korean conglomerate, and developing into a private equity fund investment company. It focuses on venture investments in Korea and China, and investments in medium and large companies.

Founded by Zhang Guiping, brother of Suning Commerce Group Chairman Zhang Jindong. The Zhang brothers co-founded Suning in 1987 and divided the business in 1999 into Suning Universal, listed as one of the top 20 real estate companies in China, and Suning Commerce, one of the largest appliance retailers in China. The investment conducted by Suning Universal in China mainly focuses on culture and entertainment industry. Suning Universal is expanding to the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Australia, France and South Korea, seeking investment opportunities in real estate, entertainment, healthcare, and culture industries.

Founded in 2014 by internet/high-tech veteran and serial entrepreneur Huang Mingming, FutureCap focuses on early-stage investment of internet and high-tech startups. Differing from other early-stage investors, FutureCap conducts a more conservative investment strategy. With less than 20 investments a year, which are mostly from automotive, corporate services and hardware industries, FutureCap tries to avoid fintech and online-to-offline startups, citing the lack of business model in some and cash burning involved.

Danish asset management company Maj Invest was established in 2005. Based in Copenhagen, it is owned by the management, employees and Danish institutional investors, PKA, Realdania and PBU. Its main businesses are in asset management and private equity. It recently ventured into the financial services sector with Maj Bank.In 2009, Maj Invest launched into international private equity activities, with offices in Singapore, Indonesia’s Jakarta,Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City and Lima in Peru. Its Maj Invest Equity Southeast Asia II K/S, worth US$90 million, is still looking for new investment opportunities in the region. 

Founded in 2008, Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI) is an evergreen fund wholly owned by Bertelsmann focusing on private equity investment in the Greater China Region. With over US$1 billion under management, BAI mainly invests in high-growth startups in industries including consumer upgrades, mobile sea, online education, financial services, mobile health and enterprise services.

Established in 2012, Cyzone Angel Fund is an angel venture investment fund subsidiary of Cyzone, which runs the Chuangyebang magazine. They focus on early stage investment in internet, mobile internet, digital media, hardware and life style sectors.
