Young data scientist Gabriel Leupin is proficient in Python and SQL. He has a degree in French language and literature, with a minor in Philosophy from the Louisiana State University. He has also completed business programs at Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII)  and studied statistics, data mining and analysis at Stanford University.He has worked as a research assistant in CORE Diagnostics and as a business developer in PogoLab. Startupbootcamp Commerce Amsterdam is part of the Startupbootcamp accelerator global group that was originally founded in Denmark in 2010. The Commerce Amsterdam programs are dedicated to early-stage startups in the e-commerce and retail verticals. They help founders during the MVP development phase and provide mentoring support across logistics solutions, fraud security, AI, big data, advertising, marketing and sales.The programs are based in a co-working space in Amsterdam and founders receive €15,000 to cover their living expenses in the city during the three-month period of intense mentorship, masterclasses and pitching opportunities.

Part of the Telefonica group, Wayra started its investment in Latin American countries and Spain in 2011. It offers mentoring and acceleration programs across 24 countries, leveraging on a global network of over 350 million customers.Wayra bridges the gap between tech entrepreneurs and networks of governments, corporations and partners where Telefónica has a presence.To date, the firm has invested more than €40 million and built 11 acceleration hubs that provide startup entrepreneurs mentoring and support from corporate leaders, investors and serial entrepreneurs.

Making Ideas Business was founded in 2012 by a group of 51 students and professors after the end of the 2011-2012 Master in Internet Business at ISDI, an international institution that offers training and degree programs in digital business management.Along with mentoring and industry expertise, the fund provides tech startups in the Spanish ecosystem with seed investments. It has invested €260,000 in five companies to date.The group today includes more than 78 partners and angel investors that, in total, have more than 1,000 years of professional experience and 50,000 hours of training in the internet sector.

Miguel Arias received an MSc in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2002 and an MBA from IE Business School in 2005. He has served as global entrepreneurship director at Telefónica since 2018.Arias began his career as an engineer. In 2003, he founded IMASTE (since acquired by US communications firm ON24), a virtual events startup, where he served as CTO for nine years.Arias is an active angel investor in the Spanish tech ecosystem. He co-founded Chamberí Valley, which promotes networking initiatives among tech entrepreneurs, and mentors at programs such as the IE Venture Lab and Wayra Academy.

Established in 1995 by Sean O'Sullivan, SOSV is a venture capital firm with six attached accelerator programs. Upon receiving investment from SOSV, portfolio companies join one of the accelerator programs that best suits their products. The accelerators are: Chinaccelerator, focused on the Chinese market; Indie Bio, supporting biotechnology and life sciences companies; Food-X, for food-tech and agriculture-focused companies; dlab, which supports startups exploring blockchain and decentralized tech; HAX, for IoT, robotics and other hardware-focused startups; and MOX, an accelerator specializing in mobile platforms and technologies. Lanzadera was founded in 2013 by entrepreneur Juan Roig, Spain's third richest individual and the CEO and biggest single shareholder of the country's largest supermarket group, Mercadona. Roig personally keeps track of the performance of the startups managed by the business incubator and accelerator based in Valencia, Spain.Lanzadera has invested €21m in almost 200 tech startups and consumer-focused offline businesses. To date, it has completed one exit via Groupify. Since 2016, Lanzadera has also specialized in video game development with Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain. The Lanzadera programs include training and assessments over a period of 9–11 months at its attractive Valencia marina location. 

Maylis Chevalier is an executive director, mentor and angel investor in Spanish tech startups. She’s currently the Director of Innovation and Digital Product at Vocento, a Madrid-based media broadcaster.She was the Spanish country manager for Ligatus, a programmatic marketing solutions company. She was also an executive in the editorial and business development departments of media companies such as Gruner + Jahr GmbH and Axel Springer SE.

P101, which stands for Programma 101, the first PC ever made in history, is an Italian VC focused on early-stage investments founded and headed by Managing Partner Andrea Di Camillo. As of January 2021, the firm has between €70m and €100m available for investments. The fund is backed by The European Investment Fund, the Italian Investment Fund SGR, and Azimut, an Italian asset manager operating since 1989 and parent company of Azimut Holding, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (AZM.IM).Headquartered in Milan, P101 has invested in international startups through its two funds, P101 and P102. It usually co-invests maintaining a lead investor role. According to Di Camillo, the P102 fund has a higher investment ticket, ranging between €2m–5m, with the possibility of increasing to up to €10m in a single company. The firm also manages Ita500, a €40m fund established in partnership with Azimut in January 2020. With a 10-year term, Ita500 will co-invest with P101’s first and second funds in startups with revenues of up to €5m and SMEs with a turnover range of €5m–50m.

Founded in 2012 in Geneva, Seedstars is one of the world’s largest accelerators with programs operating globally including Seedstars Global Startup Competition for emerging economies and seed-stage investors. Seedstars is also an investor, focusing on supporting startups founded in emerging economies across market segments. Its portfolio of 60 companies includes startups from its accelerator programs and participation in the $30,000 pre-seed round for Mexican loan fintech DB Menos. It is also one of two impact investors backing the $530,000 seed funding round for Bangladeshi cloud-kitchen and delivery startup Kludio.

New Energy Nexus is a US-based investor and startup support organization that focuses on the clean energy sector. The company was originally known as the California Clean Energy Fund (CalCEF) and has invested in SolarCentury and Tesla Motors. Since 2015, New Energy Nexus has been working with international partners like GIZ (the German agency for international development) and IKEA Foundation to promote renewables and smart energy worldwide. In 2018, New Energy Nexus launched its Southeast Asian operations by establishing offices in Indonesia and Thailand.New Energy Nexus supports startups through incubator and accelerator programs, hackathons, public talks, grants and equity investments. So far, it has invested in four Indonesian startups, including B2B rooftop solar service provider Xurya and solar equipment marketplace BLUE, and distributed nearly $50,000 in grants.

Set up in 2002 by Patrice Hoppenot 15 years after he founded European investment fund BC Partners, Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P) is an impact investor seeking to help SMEs prosper in Africa and create sustainable jobs and income there. With about €210m raised to date, I&P finances SMEs, startups and regional investment funds in Africa through equity participation and loans, as well as through microfinance institutions. Its I&P Acceleration Technologies focuses on digital startups with €2.5m of funding to be invested in 10–15 startups in 2020–2023. To date, I&P has supported more than 100 capital-funded companies and 20 companies benefiting from subsidized acceleration programs. I&P has about 100 staff based in Paris, Washington D.C. and in seven African offices (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Madagascar, Niger and Senegal).

InnovationRCA is the Royal College of Art’s center for entrepreneurship and commercialization. It supports RCA students, alumni and employees looking to turn their ideas into new businesses. The center was established in 2004 and is based in London.The centre’s activities include providing startup incubation and acceleration services to potential RCA spin-offs. This includes coaching and business mentoring based on RCA’s design-led, user-centric approach, as well as intellectual property advice and support. In addition, the center offers access to office and workshop space, as well as funding. InnovationRCA runs its own angel investor network, AngelClubRCA. It has also partnered with a UK-based VC, Venrex Investment Management, to improve RCA startups’ access to private funding. In addition, the centre conducts programmes for external entrepreneurs and organisations looking to promote innovation and entrepreneurship worldwide.McKinsey has called InnovationRCA a “world-class spinout incubator", praising its work as a "significant driver of entrepreneurial growth” along with its ”impressive results". In July 2019, the UK Business Angels Association also named InnovationRCA its Accelerator of the Year. 

Founded in 2004, Zurich-based Alpha Associates is a spin-off from Swiss Life Private Equity Partners. The independent fund manager and advisor specializes in private equity, private debt and infrastructure investments, offering investment services to institutional and private wealth clients.Besides offering a range of private market funds of funds, Alpha also manages Private Equity Holding Ltd with a diversified portfolio of investments in six public-listed companies. Recent direct co-investments include participation in the $54m Series B round of Austrian marketplace Refurbed in August 2021.

Founded in Amsterdam in 2011, Rockstart is a global accelerator-VC focusing on sustainability startups across market segments. Rockstart also runs specialist programs like agrifood in Copenhagen, healthcare in the Dutch town of Nijmegen and also in emerging tech in Bogota, Colombia. It specializes in developing business relationships for portfolio startups with global corporates such as Maersk, Shell and the Dutch Ministry of Health. Rockstart has invested in more than 250 startups, valued at €750m in total.Launched in 2019, Rockstart’s €22m agrifood fund secured investment partners including Vaekstfonden’s Green Future Fund and global dairy cooperative Arla Foods. It has invested in 20 food enterprises like Swiss zero-waste supermarket Lyfa and Danish alt-leather startup Beyond Leather Materials in 2021. Rockstart’s energy fund recently invested in the €730,000 pre-seed round of Danish carbon sequestration corporate marketplace, Klimate, in September 2021. Exits include Wercker, iClinic, Brincr and 3D Hubs.
