Xiao Hongtao is one of China’s first public relations managers, with 10+ years of experience. She was a brand director at Baihe.com, a matchmaking website. Tiaoguoshi is her third startup. Born in the 1970s, Xiao is married to fellow Tiaoguoshi co-founder Yu Jinhua.

Diego Ballesteros is one of Spain's most prominent serial entrepreneurs and business angels, backing some of the most successful acquisitions in Spain and Latin America. He made his first disclosed investment in 2016, as an angel investor of Spanish femtech WOOM’s pre-seed and seed funding rounds. In 2013, the Spanish delivery company was acquired by Just Eat that later also bought the Mexican company in 2015.

Yan co-founded childcare website ci123.com in <YEAR> when he was just 24. In 2005 he became its COO.  In 2006, he co-founded online travel site Tuniu with Yu Dunde, a friend from university, and worked as Tuniu's COO. In 2014, Tuniu was listed on NASDAQ and three years later was ranked first in market share among similar sites in China. In the third quarter of 2017,  Yan resigned from Tuniu after the company announced that it had made a profit for the first time. In November 2017, he co-founded Blackfish Technology and became its CEO.    

Bernat Añaños Martínez is co-founder and Chief Social Movement Officer of Spanish plant-based meat startup, Foods for Tomorrow, where he has worked since 2017.  He was previously CMO and Chief Growth Officer. A committed vegan and environmentalist, Añaños, worked briefly in China's EventBank, the first smart event management cloud platform, and in the European Parliament's press office in Brussels. Añaños has a first degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Barcelona, a master’s in Corporate Communication and Public Relations from the UK’s Leeds University and a postgraduate qualification in Digital Marketing from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.He has volunteered at various NGOs for about 13 years.

Hawa Traore is CEO and co-founder at Teliman, Mali’s first on-demand mobility startup and one of francophone Africa’s first, where she has worked since its launch in 2018. She initially worked as COO for one year before becoming CEO.  Before that, Traore worked as an engineer at one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants, the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) Flamanville 3 in France, for 4.5 years in construction planning and in project management. Previously, Traore completed a stint at Zodiac Aerospace as an engineer testing the life cycle of Airbus A320-200 cabins. The Malian national has a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Paris’ École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Metiers and also holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. 

As a graduate in Biomedical Engineering from Southeast University as well as Clinical Medicine from Nanjing Medical University, Chai Xueting has always been aware of the issues plaguing the traditional medical imaging system. The exorbitant cost of archiving past records and the lack of a comprehensive medical image sharing system between hospitals for a fully effective diagnosis have long raised concerns in his mind.  But it was while taking his young daughter to the hospital for a health checkup, personally experiencing these issues, that Chai became ever more determined to build a cloud-based medical system – hence his founding of Eimageglobal.  In 2017, Chai won the “Young Tech Giant” Award by Zhejiang Entrepreneur Committee. 

Mardigu Wowiek Prasantyo is a serial entrepreneur who has over 30 years of experience in various oil and gas businesses and other enterprises. Prasantyo is the founder of oil and gas services companies Titis Sampurna and Laksel EPS, which have been part of various energy projects in Indonesia. He claims to be the only civilian to have worked as special advisor for Indonesia's Ministry of Defense. Armed with a degree in criminal psychology, he has said he has taken part in interrogations and has provided opinions on terrorist movements. Prior to becoming involved with equity crowdfunding platform, Santara, he also started a gold-backed cryptocurrency called Cyronium, which purportedly supports SMEs through blockchain-based investments.

Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (PALF) is the venture capital arm of Pearson, the world’s largest education company. With investments in 10 education startups and a total of 350,000 learners,PALF is expanding its range of affordable education solutions in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Indonesia’s online learning provider HarukaEdu is the 11th addition.It is PALF’s first foray into the online higher education market.

Kinara is a venture capital fund based in Indonesia. Established in 2011, it focuses on impact investments that include supporting inclusive economy initiatives and eco-friendly ventures such as Greeneration. Kinara has been managing Indonesia’s first business impact acceleration program that has produced 11 enterprises in the food security sector since 2016. Other priority sectors are microfinance, clean tech, agriculture and fisheries.

Founded in 2017 by Li Li, a former partner at K2VC, Next Capital invests mainly in early-stage startups. Next Capital manages around RMB 400 million. Investments range in value from RMB 3-30 million. In just its first year, Next Capital invested in more than 10 startups. It finances mainly Chinese internet innovations, especially in Fintech and new retail.
