Bao Chunjian graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2006 with a master’s degree in Computer Science. He then joined Tencent where he worked for nine years on the R&D of major data-related technologies rising to the level of a T4 expert engineer (the highest title an engineer can achieve in Tencent).  In 2015, Bao Chunjian recruited a few former Tencent employees and founded a startup to help blue-collar workers find jobs but that business failed in 2016.  He then started Xiaoe Tech.

Miguel Arias received an MSc in Civil Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2002 and an MBA from IE Business School in 2005. He has served as global entrepreneurship director at Telefónica since 2018.Arias began his career as an engineer. In 2003, he founded IMASTE (since acquired by US communications firm ON24), a virtual events startup, where he served as CTO for nine years.Arias is an active angel investor in the Spanish tech ecosystem. He co-founded Chamberí Valley, which promotes networking initiatives among tech entrepreneurs, and mentors at programs such as the IE Venture Lab and Wayra Academy.

Nelson Pereira graduated in Graphic and Industrial Design at Aveiro University in 2005 and obtained a master’s in Engineering Design from the University of Porto in 2009. He also spent a year studying Digital Communications and Multimedia at the University of Porto in 2012.He has worked as a designer and brand manager for INEGI Porto for over nine years until 2015. He founded his first enterprise TOP Research in 2012 that later evolved into TOPDOX. Pereira currently works for Dropbox and Xpand IT. He is also co-founder and CEO of ikuTeam, a file-sharing developer for Atlassian Marketplace.  

Honduran-born Clelia Morales graduated in Marketing in 1995 at the Central American Technological University in Tegucigalpa. She worked in Honduras for two years as marketing manager for a local bank.In 1997, she moved to London for work experience at Image Communications before embarking on a career in PR and marketing at PR agency Porter Novelli. In 2006, Morales joined eBay Europe as head of PR and Communications. She spent nine years working at eBay, rising to become the head of marketing for France, Italy and Spain before leaving to start Woom in 2015 as COO and co-founder with former eBay colleague Laurence Fontinoy.

New York-based VC firm Union Square Ventures (USV) was established in 2004 and has invested in more than 100 companies to date. It manages US$1.7bn in assets across nine funds. The most recent, totaling US$450m in commitments, was launched in 2019. USV invests across multiple sectors and all stages of investment. Its specific interest, however, is in businesses derived from academic theses. USV is a prolific investor: recent investments include blockchain-based gaming company Dapper Labs' US$11m Series A round and B2B loan marketplace C2FO's US$200m Series G round.

Since 2017, Constanza Lucero has been the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Biel Glasses, a medtech startup offering relief to people with low vision. She is the mother of Biel, who was born with low vision and the impetus for the startup. She also works at Badalona Hospital as a Specialist in Internal Medicine in its Accidents and Emergencies Department. Prior to this, she worked for nine years at Barcelona's Hospital Clinic as a Specialist in Infectious Diseases, HIV and Internal Medicine. Lucero holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Barcelona as well as a master's in Clinical Research from the same institution. 

Founded in 2017 by the ex-COO of Deutsche Bank Henry Ritchotte, Ritmir Ventures is based in London and has invested in nine companies internationally. Ritchotte is passionate about digital innovation within the banking sector and established Ritmir specifically to invest in fintech startups during the seed and Series A funding stages.

In 2019, Juanfra Abad Navarro became the CEO and co-founder of agroSingularity, a Murcia-based startup producing natural powder ingredients from wasted agricultural by-products.The graphic and product designer has led multiple international innovation projects at the Catholic University of Murcia and at the European Business Factory. He also co-founded and headed Innovarligero for over nine years, facilitating innovative agile processes for agrifood SMEs. Navarro was selected as one of 10 brilliant Murcian entrepreneurs to join the executive training programs of the Advanced Leadership Foundation (ALF). Through AFL, he had the opportunity to meet former US President Barack Obama during the Summit of Technological Innovation and Circular Economy held in Madrid in 2018.

After graduating in economics and biotech at Harvard in 2009, Keller Rinaudo joined BCG in San Francisco but left to become a professional rock climber in November 2010. He has climbed alpine cliffs in France, underwater caves in Kentucky and the limestone towers of Yangshuo, China.In July 2011, Rinaudo became an entrepreneur, specializing robotics and drones, with over nine patents under his name. He founded Romotive that made inexpensive small robots using mobile phones as their computing system, machine vision system and wireless communication system.Romotive was pivoted into Zipline International in 2014 to design and manufacture make drones for the delivery of  critical medical supplies in remote parts of the world. 

Romill Bettany is co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer at UK-based Modulous, the first end-to-end generative design and delivery solution for affordable, sustainable and modulized housing, where he has worked since 2018.  He was simultaneously director and co-founder at engineering consultancy Optimise, based in London and Dubai, where he worked  2012-20, and where the concept for Modulous was conceived. Prior to this, he worked for nine years at engineers Ramboll, part of the WhitbyBird group and was previously was a fire safety engineer at Australian engineering consultant WSP for almost four years. Bettany has worked on building projects globally ranging from airports to theaters.  

Pedro Araújo Manuel is the Portuguese founder and CEO of software development company Bitcliq, where he has worked since 2013. He also holds the same positions within its two brands launched to date: Lota Digital, an e-marketplace for small-scale fisherman and sustainable fish retailers with blockchain-enabled traceability, and BIG EYE Smart Fishing, a platform for managing fishing fleets and fish traceability. Previously, Manuel was owner, co-founder and managing partner at tech agency MakeWise for nine years. Before 2013, he spent seven years in software and web development and systems administration at three different companies, including Portugal’s national post office. Manuel holds a master’s degree in Information Technology and Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.

Founded in 2018, Tilia Impact Ventures is the first social impact fund in the Czech Republic. Co-founding partner Silke Horáková has worked in private equity and is also a co-owner of Albatross Media. Co-founding partner Petr Vítek has worked for nine years as a Deloitte consultant. He is also co-founder of Impact Hub in Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Both have experience working in the social enterprise sector.  About 23 investors have contributed to the impact fund. Tilia plans to have 10 local social impact companies in its portfolio, each with an expected investment life of five to seven years. The VC has invested in four companies to date: smart vending SaaS platform MIWA Technologies, data-mining startup Datlab, ready-made spectacles supplier DOT glasses and waste-to-resource marketplace Cyrkl.

Elton Ho completed a master’s in food analysis and food safety management at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2015. Ho met Felix Cheung during the master’s program and they continued to develop the advanced sous-vide aseptic packaging (ASAP) technology after their graduation. They went on to co-found IXON Food Technology in January 2017, with funding from an angel investor.Ho had previously worked as a laboratory supervisor for nine years at the Vegetable Marketing Organization (VMO), monitoring the levels of pesticide chemical residues and heavy metals in domestic and imported fruits and vegetables. The VMO is a self-financing, non-profit organization established in 1946 to support local vegetable wholesalers and customers in Hong Kong. It also ensures food safety standards compliance and supports the sustainable development of local agriculture.

Ezhil Subbian studied industrial biotechnology at Anna University in India. She then went to the US to complete two PhDs in biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology at the Oregon Health & Science University and from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick. She was a research assistant at both universities.While in the US, she was also a research scientist at Gevo Inc and at Vollum Institute. In 2008, she became a scientist and technical lead at pharma Codexis in California. In 2011, she worked at San Francisco-based Kumar Investments as an entrepreneur and biotech consultant.In 2012, she founded biotech startup String Inc while on a nine-month Startup Leadership Program in Silicon Valley. In June 2013, she and husband returned to India and formed a new company String Bio to continue working on the alternative protein powder project for animal feed production.
