Edgar Jorba is CEO and co-founder at Aimentia, which runs the first AI-powered cloud-based virtual clinic for mental health patients. He has been based in Spain since 2018. Jorba previously worked in mental health research for more than two years in Spain and in France. Seeing the need for digitalization and improvement in mental health assessments and long wait times experienced by patients gave him the inspiration to start Aimentia.Jorba is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications technologies and services engineering at the Open University of Catalonia. Prior to that, he was a research intern for more than a year at Microsoft Research Asia, during which time he worked on video content analysis, video synthesis, and was part of a team that was awarded a US patent for spacetime montage. An algorithm he worked on was shipped into the Windows XP Media Center Edition. Kang subsequently interned at Intel Research Seattle and Microsoft Research Redmond. Since 2005 he is teaching assistant and lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.Rossinyol also joined entrepreneurship programs in digital humanities and automatic reading systems, which, in 2019, led him to co-found AllRead MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning. His interests also include deep learning, data science, reading systems, information retrieval and performance evaluation.
