CEO and co-founder of String Bio
Ezhil Subbian studied industrial biotechnology at Anna University in India. She then went to the US to complete two PhDs in biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology at the Oregon Health & Science University and from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick. She was a research assistant at both universities.While in the US, she was also a research scientist at Gevo Inc and at Vollum Institute. In 2008, she became a scientist and technical lead at pharma Codexis in California. In 2011, she worked at San Francisco-based Kumar Investments as an entrepreneur and biotech consultant.In 2012, she founded biotech startup String Inc while on a nine-month Startup Leadership Program in Silicon Valley. Patrão is a Portuguese co-founder at UpHill whose SaaS helps healthcare professionals keep up-to-speed on the latest clinical treatments and protocols using AI. Despite being heavily involved in the development of the software Simulate, Patrão continues to work in the medical field full-time.He has spent the last decade working at Viseu’s Tondela Hospital Center in the intensive care unit as a physician. The mechanical engineer from Nanyang Technological University majored in manufacturing, including automation, logistics and supply chains. After graduating in 2007, she spent a year studying Advanced Chinese at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.In 2010, the master's postgrad from London School of Economics worked as associate consultant at The Parthenon Group London and later moved back home to work for McKinsey in Jakarta. In 2016, she joined O2O startup Kudo that was acquired by Grab. She co-founded Logisly in 2019 to help digitalize the trucking sector.

Polish-born Weronika de Castro Figueiredo became co-founder at Doinn in March 2016.
