A developer with over 10 years of experience, Pedro Araújo received his bachelor’s in Computer Science and his master’s in Informatics from the University of Minho. He worked as a web developer and junior programmer at several companies before joining WeDo Technology as a developer and analyst in 2011. In 2013, Araújo joined Network Locum as senior Python/Django developer, leaving the company in 2015 to start Attentive, where he still serves as CTO. Previously, he had co-founded Portuguese startup and events directory NovaWeb with his brother Daniel. NovaWeb closed in 2015.

An experienced entrepreneur in internet business, Wen Chu founded the online community for media professionals No4media.com in 2001, the Guangzhou-based Click.com.cn in 2003, and the mobile entertainment website Moabc.com in 2005. Click.com.cn was acquired by the NASDAQ-listed company PACT in 2004. In March 2008, he founded the Great Wall Club (GWC), a communication platform for entrepreneurs and startups that has initiated and organized events such as the annual Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) since 2008 and the startup competition G-Startup Worldwide. He currently is the president and CEO of GWC. He invested Xpeng Motors as an angel investor in 2014.

Calling himself a serial entrepreneur, Edy Sulistyo has created and sold three tech startups. Founded in 2009, the event management platform eEvent was sold to US-based EnvisionPoint in 2013. Revenues were mainly earned from events held in USA. He also sold OW.com to Telepathy Inc and Kamus.net to Stand4 LLC. Other internet companies he built included FilesUpload, guestHub, Parking-Hub and CircleMail.Edy graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering at the Ohio State University. He is also the managing director of S3 Tech Alliance, a startup incubator in Ohio, USA.

Daniel Araújo first became interested in startups while earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at Católica Porto Business School. He went on to earn his master’s in International Business Development from the American Business School in Paris. After five years working in research and analytics at Google UK and Ireland, Araújo returned to Portugal to launch startup Attentive in 2015. He also co-founded online Portuguese startup and events directory NovaWeb with his brother Pedro while at Google. Araújo is also a mentor at the accelerator Techstars and a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum's Lisbon Hub.

Facebook is a social networking platform founded by Mark Zuckerberg and partners in 2004. It is listed on the NASDAQ exchange under ticker code FB. Throughout its development it has acquired various complementary social media and networking services, such as Instagram and WhatsApp.As an investor, Facebook has invested in a wide range of companies. It invested in and later acquired virtual reality headset developers Oculus, and also invested in e-commerce enabler Meesho. In 2020, it joined Google, Tencent and other major tech investors as an investor in Gojek.

Serial entrepreneur Yu Jianjun founded three businesses before co-founding his most successful startup Ximalaya, China’s largest online audio sharing and service platform. After graduating with a masters in mechanical engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, Yu began his entrepreneurial journey by building virtual city maps using 3D modeling technology. His second business, City Bar, was sold to Baidu.

Marcel Alcoverro is the CTO and co-founder of Gestoos, a gesture recognition startup. Alcoverro graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) with a master’s in Advanced Computing, Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality as well as PhD in Telecommunication Engineering. He is the author of several papers in international peer-reviewed journals on computer vision, computer graphics and 3D data processing.

A UK-based investor founded in 2018, Haatch currently has 14 mainly UK and Ireland-based companies in its portfolio, valued in excess of $160m. It has launched two funds to date and typically makes investments from £100,000 to £300,000 and up to £2m for Series A or B rounds. Its most recent investments include a £470,000 seed round in VR training soft-skills provider Bodyswaps, an undisclosed seed round in virtual office workspace Re-Flow, and a £155,000 post-seed round in tech development team provider Deazy. In many cases, Haatch is the sole investor.

Silicon Valley-based Tyche Partners was founded in 2015 to invest in hardtech sectors such as SpaceTech, IoT devices, cloud and enterprise infrastructure. Managing partner Weijie Yun is a computer science engineer and veteran entrepreneur as founder and CEO of Telegent Systems, AIP Networks and SiTek.The VC firm currently has 18 startups in its portfolio, including being lead investor for the $12m Series A round of Vence in May 2021. Vence is a California-based producer of virtual fencing wearables for livestock management.

Ex-Sogou (a leading Chinese search engine) and -Tencent semantic analysis engineer with two master’s degrees from France, in model optimization and natural language processing, respectively. At Sogou, Zhang headed the R&D department, focusing on semantic search. He also developed Sogou’s voice assistant, making Sogou the first search engine to enter the field of voice-enabled intelligent virtual assistance for mobile apps and services.

Founder and CEO of Nongfenqi. Serial entrepreneur. Zhou studied E-commerce at the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Before founding Nongfenqi, he spent ten years trying to start other businesses. Zhou tried building websites for tourism, private detectives, etc. His real success was a company that helped computer game users buy virtual game tokens. Zhou used the same team and the money he made from his computer game company to found Nongfenqi.
