Max Rye graduated in computer science at the University of California, Davis, in 2001. Currently based in Berkeley, Rye has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years. He was the CEO of Royal IT from 2003 to 2018 in California. He was also a senior information technology specialist at Mahler Enterprises from 2011 to 2018.In 2019, he set up TurtleTree Labs in Singapore with Lin Fengru whom he had previously met at a Google conference. He became the CTO of TurtleTree Labs with Lin as CEO. In January 2020, he was appointed chief strategist based at the company’s office in San Francisco. In December 2020, he and Lin also co-founded TurtleTree Scientific in Singapore.

Chen Xiaosu holds a master’s degree in Physics from Tsinghua University. He worked as a computational scientist at ClusterTech, an advanced computing technology provider based in Hong Kong, from September 2013 to December 2016. In May 2017, he founded Brain Cyb in Beijing.

Daan Luining is the Dutch co-founder and CTO at cell-based meat startup Meatable, the first to claim a highly scalable culture technology, where he has worked since 2018.  He is also a research director at the Cellular Agriculture Society in Leiden, a joint initiative for cell-based startups to share knowledge and to collaborate on projects to further scale the sector. Luining is also on the board of directors at the not-for-profit Cultured Meat Foundation that promotes sector innovation. His past posts have all been in the area of research, either as a researcher or a technician, and at the same time as completing studies. His last job was as a research strategist at New York-based New Harvest, a callular food rsearch funding body, where he worked for a year and met Dr. Kotter, the inventor of Meatable’s cellular technology. His research positions from 2009–15 were in the area of cell culture,  mass spectrometry and DNA sequencing at the Maastricht University, University Medical Center Amsterdam, Utrecht University and Leiden University. Luining holds a master’s in biological sciences from Leiden University in the Netherlands. 

Andre Hutagalung has a master’s in Information Technology from the University of Indonesia. In 2013, Andre joined Rama Raditya at GPS-based services provider TerralogiQ that developed Qlue in 2014. When Qlue became an independent company, Andre left TerralogiQ to become the CTO of PT Qlue Performa Indonesia.

Edgar Jorba is CEO and co-founder at Aimentia, which runs the first AI-powered cloud-based virtual clinic for mental health patients. He has been based in Spain since 2018. Jorba previously worked in mental health research for more than two years in Spain and in France. Seeing the need for digitalization and improvement in mental health assessments and long wait times experienced by patients gave him the inspiration to start Aimentia.Jorba is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications technologies and services engineering at the Open University of Catalonia. He also holds a degree in industrial engineering from IQS in Barcelona.  

Roful Zamal Santosa graduated from Universitas Komputer Indonesia in 2010 with a degree in Computer Engineering. After graduation, he started working as a coordinator at the Indonesian branch of Wirecard, an Internet payments platform. Roful is also a co-founder and CFO of IDCloudHost, Indonesia’s first SSD-based web hosting service.

Sutan Imam Abu Hanifah started his first company immediately after graduating with a bachelor’s in Information Systems from Indonesia’s Universitas Bina Nusantara (Binus). In 2015, he established Binary Art, an app development agency, with university batchmate Indri Hardianti. The following year, the two established Periksa.id, a web-based hospital management platform.

Prima Yoga Kharisma is a software developer based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He graduated from Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana in 2010. After meeting Ditto Anindita, Vita Subiyakti and Galuh Koco Sadewo at the “1000 Startups” event, he decided to join their chatbot startup as a co-founder to lead the software development for Botika.

Kukuh Budi Santoso graduated from Indonesia’s Universitas Brawijaya with a degree in Agriculture. While at university, he was an active in student organizations such as the IAAS (an international organization of agriculture students) and founded social enterprises. Prior to co-founding agri-investment platform Tanijoy, Kukuh ran Escape.id, a community-based tourism business.

Joana Ramos is the Portuguese co-founder of YouClap, where she has been a designer since 2016. Previously, she worked as a designer at Aveiro-based retailer AKRIKOLAGE. She holds a degree in Design and Master's in Product Design and Engineering from the University of Aveiro.  

Manel Alcaide Dias is the Spanish CEO and co-founder of Visualfy, the first hardware and app employing AI-enhanced sound recognition for the autonomy of the deaf, where he has worked since 2017. Prior to this, he was co-founder and co-manager at the startup’s forerunner, Valencia-based Fusió d'Arts Technology, a communications agency for the disabled from 2011 until its pivot into Visualfy. This agency itself was a pivot from Alcaide’s previous startup Asociacion Cultural Fusió d'Arts, an arts and culture-based association for the deaf, which he also co-led from its founding in 2009. From 2002–2011, Alcaide was also founder and manager of a co-operative pub. Alcaide studied Business Administration and Accounting at Laurona Institute of Professional Training near Valencia and is fluent in sign language.  

Former supply chain manager of an FMCG company based in Australia, Christopher Madiam ran a family fishery business before turning to the beauty industry.

Mauro Peixe has been the co-founder and CTO of Heptasense since 2016. The Portuguese national helped to build BPI's banking app when he worked as a software engineer at the major Portuguese bank based in Oporto. He has a master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute in Lisbon.

Chris Bone is co-founder and CEO at UK-based Modulous, the first end-to-end generative design and delivery solution for affordable, sustainable and modulized housing, where he has worked since 2018. He is simultaneously director and co-founder at engineering consultancy Optimise, based in London and Dubai, where he has worked since 2012 and where the concept for Modulous was conceived. Prior to these, Bone was CEO at engineering company Bone Steel from 2008-10, founder and director at Globalsport from 2005-8, and founder and managing director at Safe Consulting, part of engineering consultancy WhitbyBird from 1999-2004.  His experience has included working on major projects, including Wembley Stadium, BBC Broadcasting House and the Royal Ballet School, as well as designing a process for automating  fire protection for steel buildings.  

Markus Cosmann is co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer at UK-based Modulous, the first end-to-end generative design and delivery solution for affordable, sustainable and modulized housing, where he has worked since 2018. He was simultaneously a director  at engineering consultancy Optimise, based in London and Dubai, until 2020, where he had worked since 2012, and where the concept for Modulous was conceived. His construction project credits include the Oslo National Museum and the German and Swiss Pavilions at Dubai Expo 2020. He previously worked in management for six and a half years in Copenhagen at Danish civil engineering company Ramboll, and has an extensive background in fire engineering in his native Germany and the UK, both in research and commercial projects. Cosmann is a certified civil engineer, graduating from the Ruhr University Bochum in Germany.
