CEO and Co-founder of Tuvalum
Alejandro Pons Ballester is a young entrepreneur and public speaker. In 2013, Pons worked for a few months as a trainee engineer at a Jamaican company in Kingston, while reading a degree in Industrial Engineering Management at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) . He also gained some work experience as a community officer at NGO Engineering Without Borders (EWB) in 2011. Bao then worked as an investment associate at Chinese group buying website Meituan-Dianping from 2015 to 2016 and at Legend Capital from 2016 to 2017. He has designed more than 100 different machines and mechanical components for multiple industrial applications, including several plants for the manufacture of gypsum plaster. He also won the PIMEC award for business innovation and internationalization strategy for Catalan SMEs in 2006. In 2016, he joined Ivan Tambunan and two other co-founders to begin developing an equity crowdfunding site which became Akseleran. He left Deloitte in 2017 after launching Akseleran and became Akseleran's CFO. He remains Akseleran's CFO after the company's pivot into P2P lending.
