Founded in 1997, Seventure Partners is one of Europe’s most prolific VC investors with a portfolio of over 200 startups across both tech and non-tech sectors. The French VC has also managed more than 40 exits in total. It mainly focuses on fintech and insurtech, French and German startups and in life sciences in Europe, North America and Asia.Its five funds cover different market segments, ranging from €24m–€200m, with investments of €500,000–€10m per round. Total funding for a company can reach €20m, right through the early to late stages. Raúl Tapias Herranz was previously a sales manager with Galp Energy. While coordinating a digital transformation project at Galp, Tapias decided to leave behind 17 years in the energy sector to establish digital identity startup Ecertic, where he is currently CEO. Tapias holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Carlos III University in Madrid, which he partially studied in Maastricht in the Netherlands, as well as completing a master's in Marketing and Sales Management from IE Business School.

While still in university, he and Bachtiar Rifai established Jogja Web Services, which provides digital advertising and other services to SMEs. The duo continued on to establish digital marketing consultancy WireHub, digital ad automation company Kofera and, most recently, AI-ready, “data unification” platform Volantis Technology. Between 2012 and 2018, he took on various jobs in other companies, including travel aggregator website Pegipegi, the Lazada Group and now-defunct, social travel site Burufly. He also worked as a blogger and graphic designer on a freelance basis.
