Co-founder of Fenbushi Capital, China’s first venture capital firm that focuses exclusively on blockchain investment, and of Bitshares, a blockchain-based financial platform. Among the earliest investors and entrepreneurs in the blockchain industry, Shen has 12 years of experience in senior management at brokerages, hedge funds and investment banks. He received his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and his master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Argentinian native Nicolas Manrique is CEO and co-founder at Psquared, Spain’s first flexible workplace management and design company for hybrid workspaces, where he has worked since 2019. He is also a part-time advisor and investor at startup development agency We Are Grit, since its foundation in 2020. Since 2014, he has also been the owner of a marketing agency for SMEs in his native Buenos Aires, called Estudio Cuervo. In 2018, Manrique founded the Barcelona chapter of Argentinian startup co-working agency La Maquinita. Manrique holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Buenos Aires’ Pontifical Catholic University. 

Lei Ming graduated from Peking University (PKU) with a master's degree in Computer Science. While at university, he was a member of the PKU Sky Network search engine program. In 2000, Lei became one of the seven founding members of Baidu, where he led the search engine design and development team. Lei received his MBA from Stanford Business School in 2003. In 2005, he returned to China and started Kuwo Music, now one of the largest music platforms in China. As an angel investor, Lei focuses on the sectors of AI, consumption, education, medical services and entertainment.

Based in Barcelona, Javier Sánchez Marco founded investment consultancy Obersis in 2007. He has also co-founded various startups as CEO including Furgo, Tapnex and Eventoprix. He has vast experience in the internet, mobile and FMCG industries. Passionate about new tech innovations, he is also an angel investor and supported Glovo in 2015.He graduated in agribusiness and marketing in 1994 and worked in the industry for over eight years at Grupo Ybarra Alimentacion. He has also worked in Mexico as director for Bravo Game Studios (Genera Games) until 2010. He returned to Spain as general manager for the company until 2012.

VAS Ventures is the investment vehicle of Martin Varsavsky, a serial entrepreneur from Argentina and founder of companies such as Jazztel, Fon, Ya.com, Prelude and Viatel.Varsavsky began teaching entrepreneurship at Columbia University in 2012. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for Innovation in Justice, created by the Spanish Ministry of Justice in February 2018.VAS Ventures is headquartered in Madrid and has been co-investing with German publishing house Axel Springer since 2019.

XY Capital was co-founded in Hangzhou in April 2018 by former Alibaba CEO Lu Zhaoxi and Tang Yun, a former government official in Hangzhou with a PhD in Computer Science from Tsinghua University. The company set up an RMB investment fund in June 2018 and invests mainly in early-stage tech startups. 

Founded in 1972 by Sudono Salim, aka Liem Sioe Liong, the Salim Group is now headed by his son Anthoni Salim. The Salim Group is one of Indonesia's biggest diversified conglomerates, with business interests in real estate, banking, automotive, telecommunications and F&B. Flagship brands include Bank BCA, Bogasari (wheat flour manufacturer) and Indofood, one of the world's largest producer of instant noodles. The Salim Group is a partner of NUS Enterprise, the startup incubator wing of the National University of Singapore.

The VC arm of Tsinghua University, THG Ventures was founded in 2015. It is managed by the investment team from the state-owned Tsinghua Holdings Ltd., which has specialized in venture capital investments since 1999 and is one of the first China teams focused on RMB investment. The team also founded TusPark Incubator and TusPark Ventures.  

Oscar Pierre (b.1992) trained as an aerospace engineer at the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC) in Spain and later at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA. He interned at Airbus, before starting his entrepreneurial career in 2014 by founding startups like Zikkomo and FUO Concept. Zikkomo is a platform that drives education in Malawi through multiple Active Africa ONG projects. FUO Concept was an e-commerce marketplace for local handicrafts.Pierre is now the CEO and co-founder of Glovo, an on-demand delivery platform with operations in 22 markets worldwide.

Since 2017, Constanza Lucero has been the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Biel Glasses, a medtech startup offering relief to people with low vision. She is the mother of Biel, who was born with low vision and the impetus for the startup. She also works at Badalona Hospital as a Specialist in Internal Medicine in its Accidents and Emergencies Department. Prior to this, she worked for nine years at Barcelona's Hospital Clinic as a Specialist in Infectious Diseases, HIV and Internal Medicine. Lucero holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Barcelona as well as a master's in Clinical Research from the same institution. 

Dimosthenis Karatzas is Senior Research Fellow and Associate Director at the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He specializes in computer vision, document image analysis and color science. In 2007, he co-founded TruColour in the UK, where he currently is a member of the board of directors. In 2013, he was awarded the IAPR/ICDAR Young Investigator Award “for outstanding service and innovative research in human perception-based document analysis.” Karatzas also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and University of Southampton in the UK. Since 2019, he has been part of the co-founding team of Allread MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning.

David Pérez Bou is a co-founder and co-CEO as well as deep learning engineer and software architect at Deep Solutions, a producer of deep neural network software for image recognition. He combines this role with positions as an Airport Systems Consultant at Airport Gurus, an airports consultancy firm in Barcelona, and as an IT business consultant at the trade body the International Civil Aviation Organization in Panama. Prior to these positions, Pérez worked at Spanish engineering and defense systems giant Indra System and also previously worked as a software developer at agency Datalab. He studied both Engineering and IT Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Adevinta Ventures is the investment arm of the Norway-based Adevinta, a local digital marketplace group operating in 15 countries in Europe, Latin America and North Africa, with 1.5bn monthly visitors. Its leading local brands include Leboncoin in France, InfoJobs in Spain, Subito in Italy and Jofogás in Hungary. In Spain, where its headquarters is in Barcelona, the company includes an umbrella of successful online classified platforms such as Infojobs, Fotocasa, Habitaclia, Milanuncios and Vibbo, counting over 18m active users.Adevinta Ventures invests in startups focused on marketplace and platform space specifically in verticals such as mobility, education and real estate. The fund typically invests in Series A and B rounds backing them also with marketing and data support as well as mentorship. Initial investments go up to €5m with follow-on capacity. 

One of the earliest backers of Chinese internet firms, most famously Tencent and JD.com, Hillhouse Capital is a US$20 billion fund today. Founded in 2005 by Zhang Lei, a Yale School of Management graduate (the initial US$20 million used to start Hillhouse came from the Yale Endowment), the long-term fundamental equity investor is focused on China and Asia, particularly the consumer, TMT, industrials and healthcare sectors. It manages capital for institutional clients, e.g., university endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds and pension funds, and invests across all equity stages.

Lei is co-founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, one of the world’s largest smartphone companies. Born in December 1969, he holds a degree in Engineering from Wuhan University. With a personal net worth of US$11.2 billion, Lei has invested in 33 companies as a business angel, including Vancl.com, UCWeb, and YY Inc., a live streaming social media platform in China. He has also invested in 270 companies through Shunwei Capital, where he is a founding partner. Lei's investment focuses are e-commerce, mobile internet and social networking.
