Hawa Traore is CEO and co-founder at Teliman, Mali’s first on-demand mobility startup and one of francophone Africa’s first, where she has worked since its launch in 2018. She initially worked as COO for one year before becoming CEO.  Before that, Traore worked as an engineer at one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants, the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) Flamanville 3 in France, for 4.5 years in construction planning and in project management. Previously, Traore completed a stint at Zodiac Aerospace as an engineer testing the life cycle of Airbus A320-200 cabins. The Malian national has a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Paris’ École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Metiers and also holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. 

José Enrique Díaz Buzón graduated in law at the University of Seville in 1999. He has a qualification in EU law, and a master’s in business consultancy. In 2005, he also studied labor relations at IE Business School in Madrid.In 1999, Díaz began practicing as a lawyer, specializing in commercial and corporate law and business consultancy. In 2016, he became the CFO, business development manager and co-founder of Scoobic Urban Mobility. The Spanish mobility startup and the co-founding team’s Passion Motorbike Factory aim to provide three-wheeled EVs and sustainable last-mile delivery solutions.

The Chinese affiliate of top Silicon Valley venture capital firm Sequoia Capital was founded in 2005 by Neil Shen (Shen Nanpeng), a co-founder of Ctrip, China's largest travel booking site. Since then, Y Combinator has funded over 1,850 startups with a combined valuation of over US$100 billion. Twice a year, Y Combinator invests US$150,000 per company across a large number of startups in exchange for a 7% stake. The startups then move to Silicon Valley for three months. Portuguese state investment company PME Investimentos is the country's most prolific tech investor. Founded in 1989 as a joint stock company, SULPEDIP was under the supervision of the Bank of Portugal and changed its name to PME in 1998. The main aim is to help local SMEs to access funding and financial management services to develop and expand internationally. PME has invested in hundreds of startups, both tech and non-tech focused, across market verticals. It also manages several funds, including 200M that was launched in 2016 to focus on investments in Portugal-based startups. The co-investment fund of €200m prioritizes startups based in the Northern, Central, Alentejo, Lisbon and Algarve regions. The fund matches up to 100% of the private investors’ commitment, subject to a minimum investment of €500,000 and a maximum of €5m. Recent investments include petfood e-commerce Barkyn's €1.1m seed round, €4.2m Series A of made-to-order designer Platforme and a €650,000 contribution in the second phase of healthy food service EatTasty's €1.75m seed round. 

Launched in 2007, 2bpartner is a venture capital firm created by the Minho regional business association (AIMinho) and several private investors and companies. The VC invests through the Minho Inovação e Internacionalização fund that was launched in 2011 and co-financed by COMPETE and private investors. DST Group became its major shareholder in 2012.

Founded in 2011, Unitus Impact is a venture capital firm focusing on impact investments in Southeast Asia and India. With offices in Bangalore, Ho Chi Minh city and San Francisco, the VC will soon be renamed as Patamar Capital. It currently invests in scalable businesses that aim to improve the livelihoods of the poor in Asia.
