Co-founder and Chairman of Paprika
Based in North Sumatra, Wiyono Sumono joined the co-founding team of Indonesian rewards and cashback app Paprika. In 2014, Wiyono and Kalvin Yap were majority shareholders in e-commerce startup Alikolo that later became defunct in April 2015. Both of them had also worked in the timber commodity business and were keen to invest in their own startup Paprika.

A graduate in Marketing from RMIT University in Australia, Kalvin Yap made his entrepreneurial debut in 2015 when he decided to set up PT Paprika Multi Media. Prior to running the Paprika loyalty rewards app for SMEs, he had worked for nine years as a purchasing manager at a timber and wood products company PT Budi Tamora Permai.

Welly Huang is a web developer with a degree in Information Technology from STMIK Mikroskil, Indonesia. He started working as a web developer at Mikroskil while at university. After graduating in 2014, he established a web development agency CelsiusTech that was closed down a year later. Welly joined Kalvin Yap to develop rewards app Paprika and also worked for seven months as a development team lead at Medan’s e-tailer Otten Coffee in 2015.

Hossein Jalali is the Iranian CTO and co-founder of Virtuleap, a Portugal-based cognition training and assessment VR startup, where he has worked since 2018. In November 2015, while at Harvard, Pichara and Matías Muchnick co-founded a plant-based foodtech, The Not Company (NotCo). Pichara became the CTO and headed the development of NotCo’s algorithm called “Giuseppe” that can analyze molecular structures of animal-based food to create similar plant-based food that cater to the human perception of taste and texture.
