Co-founder and chief scientist of Tigerobo, John Canny received his bachelors in Computer Science and Theoretical Physics from Adelaide University in South Australia in 1979 and bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 1980. He went on to obtain a masters and a PhD from MIT in 1983 and 1987 respectively. Since 1987, he has been a professor in UC Berkeley and has published over 170 papers. He developed the Canny edge detector that uses a multi-stage algorithm to detect a wide range of edges in images. He is also an ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award winner and a Packard Fellow. 

University of Indonesia (UI) graduate Andreas Senjaya holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He won the Most Outstanding Student of Computer Science competition and was the vice-chairman of the university’s Computer Science Student Association. Upon graduation, he became a co-founder and CEO of Badr Interactive, a web and mobile applications development company which developed the iGrow platform. He also founded the Nalacity foundation, a social enterprise and Hijab e-commerce store which aims to empower marginalized women and family members of leprosy patients.

After graduating in 2004 from the Universitas Negeri Surabaya in Indonesia, Rubby Emir worked at various NGOs and social enterprises, including the Red Cross and Rainforest Alliance.In 2014, he co-founded a nonprofit enterprise Saujana, working on environmental conservation and social issues. In 2015, the Saujana team launched Kerjabilitas, a job search platform for disabled people in Indonesia. Rubby is also a senior project manager at the Humanitarian Benchmark Consulting that provides consulting and support services for humanitarian activities.

Hanna Keraf’s career reflects her focus on helping underserved communities in her birthplace Flores, Indonesia. After earning a bachelor’s in Business Administration at Japan’s Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, she worked for NGO Swisscontact, that encourages economic development by supporting local businesses. She then moved on to work for Sahabat Cipta Foundation, an NGO focusing on supporting local farmers.In 2014, she joined Azalea Ayuningtyas and Melia Winata to establish Du’Anyam, a social enterprise that aims to empower women through wicker crafting.

Focused on seed/early-stage investing, Zhonglu Capital is the private equity arm of Zhonglu Group, controlled by Shanghai investor Chen Rong. It uses owned capital in making equity investment, backing 40 to 50 companies a year in the TMT sectors; and specifically in recent years, in lifestyle O2O, enterprise IT, mobile healthcare, fintech, VR & AR.

Founded in 2008, Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI) is an evergreen fund wholly owned by Bertelsmann focusing on private equity investment in the Greater China Region. With over US$1 billion under management, BAI mainly invests in high-growth startups in industries including consumer upgrades, mobile sea, online education, financial services, mobile health and enterprise services.

Sky9 Capital is founded by the former co-founder and managing director of Lightspeed China Partners, Cao Darong. As an early-stage venture capital firm, it focuses on investing in TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), especially Internet innovation and enterprise services. The company has a strong presence in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Silicon Valley in the US.

Founded in 1999, Comcast Ventures is the private venture capital affiliate of Comcast Corporation, an American global telecommunications conglomerate. It invests in companies with a focus on advertising, consumption, enterprise services and infrastructure. Comcast Ventures will invest in promising businesses at any stage of development, from seed through late stage.

Shangshi Capital was founded and headquartered in Beijing in 2014. It has branch offices in Shenzhen and San Francisco. The firm manages two US dollar funds and three RMB funds, totaling over RMB 1.5bn. It has invested in over 60 startups at home and abroad, mainly in digital healthcare, consumer goods, IoT and enterprise tech.

Based in Beijing, Xianghe Capital was founded in 2016. It runs a USD fund and an RMB fund. The founders of Xianghe Capital formerly led Baidu’s investment department. Xianghe Capital invests in the following areas: artificial intelligence, internet and traditional industries (e.g., online education, logistics, finance, medical care), B2B, culture, entertainment and enterprise services.  

Budiman Wikarsa is an engineering graduate from Purdue University. He worked in management consulting firms including AT Kearney and McKinsey. He joined the Grameen Foundation as a project manager in 2007 and helped Aldi Haryopratomo to co-found and run the social enterprise Ruma from 2009 to 2011.Budiman is currently the head of strategic partnership at Monk’s Hill Ventures. He has an MBA from Northwestern University and had also worked for the transition team that assisted the Indonesian President Joko Widodo in 2014.

Azalea Ayuningtyas has a bachelor’s in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, as well as a master’s in Epidemiology from the Harvard University School of Public Health. She worked for one year as a consultant at Simon-Kucher & Partners in USA before returning to Indonesia to pursue her dream of using her skills to help people. In 2014, she co-founded Du’Anyam together with two high school friends. Azalea is the CEO of the social enterprise that seeks to empower women from Indonesia’s subsistence farming households.

Mario López de Ávila Muñoz is a Spanish entrepreneur who has established four tech companies, including Exovite and Nodos CTC, the latter in operation since 2001.  Muñoz currently works at City_Ex, an initiative aimed at promoting smart city technology among municipalities. He is also a partner at Bip Iberia, a business tech consultancy, where he is focused on enterprise agility. Muñoz holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and a doctorate in Creativity and Innovation in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. 

Indra Suryawan is the co-founder of Star Mercato Capitale, the company behind mutual fund investment platform Tanamduit. Between 1997 and 2001, he was the department head of business and development at Bank Bali. He later joined Jatis Solutions, which specializes in developing enterprise IT applications, leaving as deputy CEO in 2010. Between 2013 and 2017, Indra was the CEO of PT Digital Artha Media, which developed Bank Mandiri's e-cash system. Indra holds a master's in Management and Finance from Prasetiya Mulya Business School, Indonesia.

Rini Hapsari is currently the CEO of Star Mercato Capitale, the company behind mutual fund investment platform Tanamduit. Her career spans IT and banking, working at Bank Bali and Lippo Bank between 1999 and 2004. From 2005 to 2010, she worked at enterprise IT firm Jatis Solutions, becoming the head of the division in charge of Jatis' Avantrade wealth management software. She was also vice president at Bakrie Telecom between 2012 and 2015. Rini graduated from the University of Indonesia with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology.
